We aren't doing a "Flagship" Poll cause we already know we have no Flagship. 03-lmfao Why would we care what SunBelt members think about CUSA? We don't care about anything going on in SunBelt. Next thing you are gonna tell us is Appy State is the Flagship of SunBelt. A show of hands by all Cusa fans who care? 03-shhhh Nada!

I think it's because you don't think you want to hear the answer you already really know...

You S. Miss fans are funny as hell but you are the last to know. You say know what? Your time has passed and not only are you not going to make a conference better. You are a major problem with CUSA.

You fans just cant see that because you are still in 1990. WAKE THE HELL UP!

edit; I know its not all S. Miss fans but there's a lot like the above

LOL, says Vandy to Bama in 1990.

WKU may be the least recognizable "name" in all of CUSA on a National level.

Also considering Marshall at Appy was moved from Sat Sept 25 at 2:00 PM kickoff to Thurs Sept 23 at 7:30 ESPN kickoff. The only game on then. And the Appy Marshall game last year that was flexed from CBSSN at 7:00 to CBS at 3:30. That game didn't have to be picked, there was 22 other games they could have taken but they choose Appy at Marshall.

It all depends on who is taken. If Houston is taken, then Rice will get the call most likely. If Cincinnati is taken, then Marshall will get the call. If SMU is taken, North Texas probably gets a call. If Tulane is taken, USM will probably get a call. Memphis? Probably UAB. There are too many variable.

RE: USM Marshall UAB
Using Marshall fan Riley's TV numbers he pulled from SportsMediaWatch from 2020 it looks like CUSA had 6 rated regular season games on TV and averaged averaged 566666 viewers per game.

If you take Marshall's 2 games out of the equation CUSA had 4 rated regular season TV games and averaged 292500 viewers per game.

A massive chunk of CUSA's rated games in 2020 came from Marshall games. ESPN might decide they want that.

So it's that simple? If the AAC has to add a program it will be one that brings value to the conference. It will not be a simple swap like you've indicated.

My post on ULM on the Sun Belt board:

Quote:Im not saying ULM is going anywhere, just saying "Same Crap, Different Coach"

ULM IA Coaches
1994-98 Ed Zaunbrecher 22-36
1999-02 Bobby Keasler 8-28
2003-09 Charlie Weatherbie 31-51
2010-15 Todd Berry 28-43
2015-20 Matt Viator 19-39
=====================
Overall IA Record 108-197

No coach has even come close to a .500 record at ULM when they leave. You have to go back to Dave Roberts (1989-1993) and ULM in the Southland to find a coach with a winning record at 37-20-2.

The only team I can compare ULM to is Temple in the BE. And the BE only allowed Temple 12 years. The SB is on year 20 for ULM. How much time do you give before you give up on a failed experiment.

Got to give it to ya, Appy State. You did get Brent Stockstill in the absolute worst game he ever played as a Blue Raider. Ya won the Bowl and whipped our a**. But guess what? it doesn't matter cause the CUSA Champ played somebody else that year. We were only Eastern Division Champs (the also rans) playing the big old SB Champs. You were fortunate not to have to play the UAB Blazers. Still don't give a Flip who you think should be designated "Flagship" of either conference.

Once more we have someone who FEELS like they know what they are talking about. Just like in another post you said Marshall had more games picked up by tier one media in CUSA.

Do a little research before basing everything on how you FEEL. Nothing can be based off 2020...

Appy St vs Marshall was on CBS for one reason and one reason only. None of the big boys were playing....SEC. While we are talking about that game it was one of if not the lowest rated FBS game to ever be shown on CBS. Just a little over one million viewers...CBS probably has 300k in ghost viewers. Other wise the TV stays on even when no one is watching. And a 77 % drop from the year before and this was when people were basically locked in their homes. This game had the largest drop of the whole season.

numbers from last season are higher across the board for CUSA and SBC play on espn, espn2, for one reason...

the lack of Big10 and SEC games...huge anomaly. Do you honestly think 980k fans watched Marshall vs EKU because it was Marshall? No it was the first FBS game and the only one played at that time. Lets put this another way...

TEX ST out drew Marshall by 1/4 of a million viewers on the same day. A FCS game vs nobodies had 400k less than Marshall on a Wednesday night. Do I need to repeat it again...COVID influenced everything

2014, 2015,2016,2017 Western had more tier one games than any other school in CUSA. Yeah, it dropped some the last couple years but not a lot
