If you take Marshall's 2 games out of the equation CUSA had 4 rated regular season TV games and averaged 292500 viewers per game.
A massive chunk of CUSA's rated games in 2020 came from Marshall games. ESPN might decide they want that.
Once more we have someone who FEELS like they know what they are talking about. Just like in another post you said Marshall had more games picked up by tier one media in CUSA.
Do a little research before basing everything on how you FEEL. Nothing can be based off 2020...
Appy St vs Marshall was on CBS for one reason and one reason only. None of the big boys were playing....SEC. While we are talking about that game it was one of if not the lowest rated FBS game to ever be shown on CBS. Just a little over one million viewers...CBS probably has 300k in ghost viewers. Other wise the TV stays on even when no one is watching. And a 77 % drop from the year before and this was when people were basically locked in their homes. This game had the largest drop of the whole season.
numbers from last season are higher across the board for CUSA and SBC play on espn, espn2, for one reason...
the lack of Big10 and SEC games...huge anomaly. Do you honestly think 980k fans watched Marshall vs EKU because it was Marshall? No it was the first FBS game and the only one played at that time. Lets put this another way...
TEX ST out drew Marshall by 1/4 of a million viewers on the same day. A FCS game vs nobodies had 400k less than Marshall on a Wednesday night. Do I need to repeat it again...COVID influenced everything
2014, 2015,2016,2017 Western had more tier one games than any other school in CUSA. Yeah, it dropped some the last couple years but not a lot
