You're right, but i think it's worse than that. And Penny isn't helping by airing it out in public like a little kid not getting his way.

I've pretty much lost hope especially since Penny decided to go public with his comments about team members as Triple A mentioned above.

I think MEMPHIS loses a shocker to Murray State, then Alabama routs MEMPHIS on ESPN2, and Tennessee (in Nashville on ESPN2) finishes the trio of disastrous games.

Just an amazing disaster coming out of the blocks.

I found this interesting. In Emoni Bates profile on the Memphis basketball site it says:

"Born on Jan. 28, 2004, making him 18 the calendar year of the 2022 NBA Draft and therefore not eligible due to the 19-year-old requirement."

It's almost like Penny is looking for very young players because they have to stay two years.

Bates and Duren at 17 and 18 lead Memphis in scoring. I'm note sure he realizes how the free agency portal has changed the old Fab 5 model, and that coaches can put together much "older" teams now than they used to...

Penny won't change, too much ego & pride. And the Memphis admin won't fire him unless & until ticket sales fall off. So Penny will continue his player rotation carousel that produces nothing but dissention & loses. He won't sit Alo, his son, Harris, Dandridge (the Memphis guys) & the 5*s who aren't ready & play the proven guys (+ Duren who is a plus) for 28-32 mins like Gonzaga, Duke, UK do despite loaded rosters to build some team continuity. Unfortunately, until fans quit buying season tickets, Memphis basketball will be a sad, unperforming program & Penny will continue to blame everyone & everything but the real problem, himself.

And BTW, Finch could coach circles around Penny.

It's me. I have the fan club to prove it and everything, it's why I trade marked lol Memphis. Every year we have the same fight over Peso. By the way pretty sure Tubby will still get a team to the NCAA's before Peso gets Memphis name up on a selection sunday. Also pretty sure Peso will have them on probation by the next year or two. It's the Memphis/Penny way.

Somebody said it's like a dad coaching a select squad. That's exactly what every Memphis fan wanted and had no problems with Peso playing dirty and getting the job through a shady lil work around. They are getting what they deserve. But hey they signed all those Memphis guys and the players who magically moved to Memphis.

It’s funny you mention that. I bought two tickets for this one yesterday and am looking forward to attending. I will be somewhat surprised if we win but not shocked.

I loved Penny as a player and am hoping that he can get things turned around… just not against ECU LOL.
