I think it has potential. SMU and Temple are two programs that historically should be in the top 100. If you had UAB, Memphis, Wichita, SMU, and Temple in the top 100 that would be solid. Tulsa should be more like top 150 and USF should be at least top 200.

I think a breakdown like this is achievable and could be multi-bid:

Top 50 - 2 teams
51-100 - 3 teams
101-150 - 3 teams
150-200 - 4 teams
200+ (but under 300) - 2 teams

Agree with UAB seeming too high at 28 by the same logic. Blazers are good, maybe even great this year, but #28 seems pretty high to me with our current resume. Maybe it is warranted, idk, I sure hope it is. A good NCAA tournament run this year would be nice

The Illinois and Arkansas data is undoubtedly helpful.

I think kenpom has it about right. They're 75 kenpom. That's about where I expected them this season. Despite the abysmal performance against Xavier, uc is world's better on defense. The offense is still bad. They don't run particularly good stuff on that end and don't have any natural creators. They are fairly deep with role players but only have a couple guys that could be more than that and neither are there yet.

That pretty much sums it up. We have 8 or 9 guys who would be really nice role players on an NCAA at-large team, but they all either lack the offensive talent to be a primary scoring option or just aren't ready to yet. Saunders and Lakhin are going to be dudes next year though. Unless either Daniel Skillings or Josh Reed is capable of being an all-AAC player as a freshman in 2022-23, we badly need to find a proven scorer on the wing in the transfer portal this offseason.
