I’m hearing a big problem is the team’s payout is predicated on ticket sales. So payouts will be reduced. Would it be profitable to travel to El Paso?

I wish ECU would take it. I'd fly out for that. My group was about to get on the road when the news broke today. Getting a full refund for ticket and hotel so I'm still game to hop on a plane somewhere over the holiday. El Paso wouldn't be the worst place to ring in the new year with a bowl win over the Pac-12.

HTC media team was 1.5 hours from hotel check in when news started hitting the phones.... had to pull off the road at a gas station to get everything confirmed and locked down. Left Greenville @ 7, got back by 4p.

Complete disbelief was high...

This would have been my first bowl game in person since the '99 Mobile Bowl vs. TCU... and first as a media photographer.

If we had a real AD we would be heading to El Paso right now. Fire Rick Hart!

Just lost probably 500k or more traveling to Annapolis. Surely this bowl would pay out enough to cover travel expenses and those lost from military bowl.

Shame SMU sent everybody home. This would have been ideal.

AAC better make sure Memphis and ECU are taken care of since they spent the money to travel.

Not when you add more travel and housing expenses.

That would seem reasonable, especially since the AAC is getting $6 million for Cincy's playoff appearance alone.

Why would the AAC be responsible for the ACC canceling games? Makes no sense.
