If im a recruit, im not going where the team is getting boos in their own house. Doesn't matter the record, the recruit is already there in spite of the record.

Well, UC just lost RB Jason Garrett from Fla., he flipped to Kentucky, was considered the 20th best rb.....

I don't follow Kentucky but was playing time a factor? Kiner should finish over 1,000 yards for the season and he and M. Montgomery likely returning. What about NIL opportunities?

Jason Patterson...but yeah, he was between UC and UK in the first go around and I guess their bag got a bit bigger when they missed out on two other RBs. With us having another in this class, that makes 6 RBs with at least two years of eligibility remaining, it's not exactly something we're going to cry ourselves to sleep at night about losing.

Most highly rated recruits believe they can turn things around, that's why they get easily discouraged and enter the portal because they believe they should be playing. Sustained success is probably the biggest factor going against UC right now.

From those among us who following recruiting services closely, is there a general sense of how UC is doing on the high school and portal fronts, especially relative to our Big 12 peers?

Right in the middle on both fronts, nothing too special, but nothing horrible either.

First full cycle as a newbie in a power conference I think the middle of the pack is not too shabby, especially considering UC spent this past season in the cellar of the conference standings.

Someone correct me if I am wrong (basing this on memory from earlier this week)…..
ESPN has our recruiting class at 38 overall, 4th best in B12.

They do...including our transfer class (at the moment) drops us a bit. ESPN also tends to be the least reliable of the rankings services.

Yep! Ayden Boykin was a surprising one...I felt like he should've gotten some D1 scholarship interest.
