We got Woods from Bosco Institute in Indiana (near Chicago), who committed to NU today.

Not highly recruited but I love that he played for a prep school that played a bunch of other top preps. Maybe Coen found another diamond in the rough. Do we have ant stats for him?

I was told it was between NU and Middle Tennessee for his services.
We’re also still in the mix for LA Pratt.

RE: Transfers
Some women's hoops transfer to report. NU announced on Friday the addition of transfers Derin Erdogan and Halle Idowu to the 2022-23 roster.
Erdogan, a 5-6 junior guard, joins the team after playing with the U20 Turkish National Team. In 2021-22, she appeared in 13 games for U. Arizona, averaging 5.3 minutes per game.
Idowu, a 5-11 junior, played in 23 games for Toledo as a sophomore and played in 23 games for the Rockets as a freshman in 2020-21. She led the team with 12 blocks.

I wish those two were the only ones in the portal but Soriano, Ozturk and Century McCartney are also portaling.

RE: Transfers
Pratt wasn’t a necessity now that we have Woods with Chase, Masai and Pridgen.
Besides we could still bring someone else in.

RE: Transfers
Pratt is going to Elon, so no. I think McClintock was given a full ride. I have to check.
You forgot Center Collin Metcalf and forward Jared Turner.

RE: Transfers
Thanks. I knew Pratt was Elon, no idea why I added him. So looks like 12 at the moment. List edited above

McClintock's Verbal Commit's status has always been "under scholarship".
Just saw that we will be in a late November tourney in London and playing Manhatten in the opening round. Princeton is a third team with a fourth team yet to be named.

Dude relax. There are 1,500 players still in the portal. What's with the impatience?
Don't worry about everyone else. Again one bad season isn't a factor. That sounds kind of ridiculous.
At what point in the calendar may I start to worry? Asking for a friend.

NU isn’t dipping into the transfer portal. We have 5 incoming freshman along with the returning players.
From what I’m hearing the university is making it very hard to have transfer come to NU. You must have the high academic background to attend and that eliminates a ton of players. The portal madness has apparently caused NU to take that stance.
There still could be one transfer between now and the start of the academic year, but that likely will be it.

RE: Transfers
Well that sounds bad unless I'm missing something or it's a short term stance. In this era, if you are out of the transfer portal world, you are out of the real basketball business it would seem

Yep. Everything changed two years ago snd Portal transfers are primary targets because they've already proven what they can do at the collegiate level and they've used up their one time transfer. Last year we got four of them and so far we've failed to attract even one.

RE: Transfers
PS. The ONLY reason we would add a SEVENTH freshman recruit would be if we couldn't get a transfer. If we, for some oddball reason, are now discouraging transfers then we are the only school doing so.
