That 78-71 3v14 score was my alma mater against Iowa St. I never say this, but they allowed ISU to throw elbows like crazy. Two UTA players took an elbow to the face and the refs called a foul on the Mavs. Then I see the Baylor/UNC game and the refs tossed the guy who threw the elbow. Stark contrast.
UConn beat Mercer 83-38. It was 63-23 going into the 4th, where they obviously let up. They outscored Mercer 20-0 in the 3rd quarter.
Michigan's 74-39 win over American was 39-13 at halftime.
IU 85-51 win over Charlotte was 64-35 going into the 4th.
South Carolina's 79-21 win over Howard was 60-8 going into the 4th.
Stanford's 78-37 win over Montana St. was 20-0 after 1 and 63-21 going into the 4th.
Texas only won 70-52 over Fairfield, but it was 39-18 at half.
Louisville's 83-51 win over Albany was 48-20 at half.
Baylor's 89-49 win over Hawaii was 72-37 going into the 4th.
NCSU's 96-68 win over Longwood was 42-21 at half.
Iowa kept up the pressure on Illinois St. in their 98-58 win leading by 6, 14 and 27 after each quarter before the final margin of 40.
Most of the routs were far bigger routs than the final score indicated.
One of the closest, LSU's 83-77 win over Jackson St. was a 41-28 LSU lead before they relaxed in the 3rd quarter and got outscored 30-16 and had to win the game in the 4th.
The ISU-UTA 78-71 game was the only one that was toe to toe the whole game as UTA lead by 8 in the 1st and by 6 at half before ISU took the lead. But it was tied with 5:30 left and a 3 point game with 1:48 left.
