If it is what it SHOULD be, I'm 'all in' on this. If it is instead what it COULD be, I'm not.

There is great value in learning how/why/what 'other people' think/why they come to their conclusions.... and it is as important for those in the minorities as in the majorities. I just hope it doesn't become something where 'someone not supportive of the group' is defining how they think.... This is potentially a recipie for 'woke gone wild', and also a potential for REALLY breaking down some seriously needed 'understanding' walls.

Agree totally. My concern is that it seems that too many of these events tend toward the "woke gone wild" extreme and create more resentment than understanding.

Do you shed light or shed heat?

"These courses are meant to focus on how difference is understood across societies, how understandings have changed through time and their specific consequences on human development."

This is what I got out of my anthropology courses. I wonder what has changed.

Quote: The course description describes whiteness “as a conspicuous problem within liberal political discourse” with “worldmaking (and razing) effects.”

Anti-white hatred is now mainstream academic inquiry. And you’re not even allowed to call that out without being called racist. pic.twitter.com/pRvF8e6Ser

Quote: EXCLUSIVE: At my college, @UChicago, a class called “The Problem of Whiteness” will be taught in the Winter.

Since I began college a year ago, I’ve documented all the anti-white hatred I’ve seen on campus. Without a doubt, this is the most egregious example.
