Apologies if this was posted in some other thread. Pretty open and honest interview considering what he could and couldn't talk about. This interview was before the Big 12 early media negotiation news.

Some summarized points.

-Refused to answer if anyone from Utah officially talked to the B1G or Big 12.

-Feels PAC is the best option, but felt they have other options depending on how things go.

-Doesn't think super conferences will happen (gives reasons why). Feels they would be involved if it does go that way. And said they need to be ready for any direction that happens.

-Seemed to say ADs are tasked with evaluating expansion candidates. He has his list of schools that Utah believe are additive and dilutive.

-Believes CFP expansion will happen soon and that it will be 12.

So much for the prior reports of purported Utah sources denying any contact between the school and other conferences. Now there's just a refusal to comment.

Yep, but again, we don't know who SLC Tribune/Wilner/Canzano talked to at Utah. It could have been a janitor in the athletic department or a grad student in the SID office.

Interesting comment-96% of realignment is driven by football. AD was quoting what someone else had told him.

Yeah. He could have easily said they have not had talks with either. But between that and saying they have options suggests otherwise.

I agree. That number seemed oddly specific. And was different from the 80/20 football/basketball number being mentioned last year.
