RE: SMU signs home and home with Oklahoma
I saw a terrible smu/tulsa game
In 1996 at the cotton bowl.

SMU won 17-10

Well done, Mustangs.

Yeah especially if you consider OU for so many years played their biggest rivalry game in SMU’s home stadium…

For three years while Ford was built?

Yup. Those three years, 97-99

Plus the two years before that when I guess they were still busy drawing up the plans. 95-96

Plus another 47 years back before the move to Texas Stadium. 32-78

Are you sure it wasn’t at Ownby? Ownby94 might disagree with you.

I can damn sure tell you that the ‘99 Rice game was at the cotton bowl and I’d wager was more terrible than your ‘96 game.

Actually I might have been at that ‘96 smoo-tulsa game, too, come to think of it.

CFP access negates the need, but they can go ahead if they want. Technically there is only a P2.

Yeah, cause making extra money in a bigger conference does not matter a bit. 03-lmfao
Just ignore him. he thought the AAC was going to raid the Big 12.

Incorrect characterization.

I thought ESPN through the AAC was going to break up the Big 12 as well as many in the media and the industry paving the way for UT and OU to the SEC early. Just to be correct knowledgeable sir. The most logical reason as to why this didn't happen was well covered by Todge on this site. The fact that parties violated the by-laws of the Big 12 conference and the legal ramifications as well as financial more than likely saved the Big 12 from their historical poor management losing many teams over it's history. Once the violations were revealed by sources that prevalent speculation of the industry went quite. Sometimes it's best to be lucky!

What's your Hoist of Colours handle my fellow Pirate?

RE: SMU signs home and home with Oklahoma
Oklahoma is being proactive about maintaining its texas recruiting presence after the conference move. The SEC is so big they probably aren't guaranteed even one game in texas each year. They saw the path Nebraska walked.

True dat.

They’ve played 3 or more games a year in TX for the last 6 seasons. In 2020 they played in state 5 times!!!
