Was up by 21 before the scout team came in the final 2 minutes. It was an ugly first half for both teams, the Cougars put it together for the second half.

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
Charleston is third in others receiving votes in the AP Poll. Beyond rooting for the CAA, I want Charleston to be ranked because the last team in Hofstra's conference to be ranked in the AP Poll was La Salle in 1974-1975. The AP does not make a postseason poll, so Final Four teams George Mason and VCU were not ranked. George Mason was Number 25 in the Coaches Poll when Hofstra beat them in February 2006.

Hope Estrada injury not serious. Tough not to have him for Purdue. Did not look good having to be helped after the game.

Another disappointing home loss for Delaware last night to a solid 6-1 Cornell team

The gap between the top 4 and the rest continues to increase.
Here is the ELO Computer rankings heading into the weekend
#1 Charleston - 28
#2 Towson - 59
#3 UNCW - 60
#4 Hoftsra - 92
#5 Delaware - 182
#6 Drexel - 207

Everyone else is 300 or greater

Towson has a very winnable road game tonight against D1 winless LIU Brooklyn. 7PM on the free NEC Sports App. Easy watch for those with a Roku

Northeastern at Georgia Tech is also on ESPN+ at 7:30. Surprising to see Bill Coen's team struggling so bad for a 2nd year.

It really isn’t that surprising.

We’re playing with 6 freshman, Doherty is missing his 4th game out of 7 and Pridgen is playing in his 3rd game.

We’re a MAJOR work in progress. We’re just not good right now.

Dec 3, 2022 Another good slate filled with opportunities against mid majors that are mostly home games. Need to get a few of these today.

Charleston at Citadel
Princeton at Drexel
Davidson at Delaware
UNCG at Elon
Howard at Hampton
Yale at Stony Brook
Richmond at William and Mary

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
Charleston won 79-57, and they were the only favored CAA team. It is disappointing for the CAA to have all six home teams be underdogs.
Drexel lost 83-63.

Delaware held on to beat Davidson 69-67, and Davidson is 6-3 with losses to Charleston and Delaware. Delaware led by 13 with 3 minutes left. Delaware committed a foul with 6 seconds that I am assuming was to prevent Davidson from attempting a three to tie, but Davidson still missed a three to decide the game. Each team had a former W&M player. Davidson's Connor Kochera made a free throw to go down 2, missed the second, and fouled Delaware, who had Gianmarco Arletti miss 2 free throws. Delaware shot free throws 0-6 in the last 53 seconds including missing the first of a 1-and-1 twice, but they held on to give Davidson consecutive losses 68-66 and 69-67. Delaware has former W&M guard L.J. Owens, who is in his fifth season and third school.

Delaware's Jyare Davis became the first player from 2010-2011 to now to have at least 25 points, at least 7 rebounds, at least 5 assists, at least 3 steals, at least 3 blocked shots, and no turnovers.

Edit: Davis quickly liked my tweets and retweeted me.

Tribe beat Richmond
Delaware beat Davidson
Hampton beat Howard
CofC beat Citadel
Elon loses to UNCG
Stony Brook loses to Yale
Drexel loses to Princeton

Not a bad day for the CAA as Elon barely lost to UNCG and Stony Brook hung tight with Yale.

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
Northeastern led 34-17 at halftime and won 66-46 hosting Georgia State. Monmouth won 76-69 at Manhattan. It was Monmouth's first win, and Northeastern's only win before today was against Manhattan in London.

The CAA does not play tomorrow. On Tuesday, Charleston plays their second consecutive away game in their state at 2-7 Presbyterian, who is 2-0 at home. Their first win was non-Division I, and they only played one team in a conference that is likely to get an at-large bid. UNCW hosts East Carolina. Both games are at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday's five games including Hofstra at Number 5 Purdue, who is 7-0, and the Sagarin through yesterday expects Purdue to win by 19.

W&M, Northeastern and Monmouth are all better than the 300 threshold with their wins this weekend

CAA with a bad night.

Hofstra, Towson, and William and Mary all lost against the better schools. Delaware and Hampton won against weak competition. Those were the last chances to get some big wins for the CAA before conference play.

RE: Men's basketball around the CAA
Purdue led 20-2 and outscored Hofstra by 1 after that to win 85-66. It was Purdue's fourth win by 19. They beat Austin Peay (NET 268th), Duke (NET 12th), Minnesota (NET 226th), and Hofstra (NET 87th) by the same amount. They are 9-0 with a win by 5 and the rest by double-digits. Hofstra's Amar'e Marshall led all scorers with 24. On Sunday night, Hofstra has another chance for a great win against UMass (7-1) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. UMass's only loss was hosting Towson.
