New Years Eve's Games
Conference play underway! Interested to see a full slate of games. Watching the UTA/SFA game now waiting on Tarleton vs ACU. Tarleton got the win the other night against UTA without some key players. UTA has size and talent but they are young and their shooting is less than stellar. They play very aggressive D like Tarleton, so I would not take them lightly. If they improved their shooting they would be really good. SFA has size and talent as well but they are struggling early against the UTA D.

both good games, though I was hoping for different outcomes, especially with the Tarleton/ACU game. The WAC is super competitive this year and most teams have a chance to win the league. I would not take any team lightly. I do not know who the favorite is right now and it is wide open for anyone to win. Should be a fun year to watch!

That Tarleton/ACU game was a real battle. Both teams are defensive minded. On any given night, such emphasis on defense means whomever gets hot can beat the opponent no matter who they are. When ACU beat UT in the NCAAs it was the unusual emphasis on defense that won the game. Now it seems the whole game has shifted from offense to much tougher defense, and that is going to make conference very hard to predict. Cal State Bakersfield held ACU to 15 first half points before figuring out a way to play their defense... and then we came back with 50 points in the second half and won. It is not your daddy's game anymore.
