Great game last night, lived up to its billing. CofC was fortunate that last shot didnt fall (unsure whether it would have counted anyways). Poor defense in that situation. You can paly defense and put some pressure on a guy without fouling or reaching in to possibly foul on the shot. Allowing uncontested was not wise.

Charleston has a mean rank of 3.5 in the CAA's 21 team statistics categories. The mean rank of all teams is the mean of the numbers from 1 through 13, which is 7. They lead in nine categories. They score so much that they lead in the CAA in scoring margin per game while being ninth in points allowed per game.

They are up to Number 18 in the AP Poll and Number 21 in the Coaches Poll.

ESPN Bracketology has Charleston as a 9 Seed. Wow!

If they lose a game or 2 (as long as it is not to an awful team) I fear they will be thrown into that dreaded 8/9 game. If they win out I think they are a 6. 1 bad loss and they are staring at a favorable 10 seed, if they fall in the CAAT at any point they are looking at an 11 or 12. I dont think they can afford 3 losses including the CAAT or theyd be on the outside looking in. The metrics just arent there.

CofC is 21.5 point favorites tonight...on the road. Wow.

I hope so. The last meeting was an easy Charleston win in the CAA Tournament. Charleston is the first team to 20 wins.

CofC sure looked like they looked right past Monmouth last night. Glad they were able to eventually pull it out. I for one do not want Charleston losing to one of the bottom dwellers this season.

No team is invincible. Upsets every week in college basketball. Virtually impossible to be up for every game in a long season.

No doubt, but the margin for slip ups is razor thin

Charleston remained at #18 this week in the AP

They went up from 351 to 445 points.

Next 4 games very crucial to us. All 4 very capable of a win. Just 1 loss drops us out. Meanwhile most of us just enjoying while we can. Most of us would be happy with a top 4 seed in CAA tourney

Agreed solo. Drexel has also never hosted a ranked team at the DAC before, so winning Saturday might make me figure out a way to get back to Philly for that one.

The DAC is a TOUGH place to play. A small venue that is a real snakepit if its full and the crowd is amped up. In many ways a tougher place to visit than a big arena.

Upgrades in the past handful of years makes it a little less tough, but when even mostly full it can be a real tough place to play. Obviously the hope at some point is to have it consistently full and tough to play (pipe dream)

Agree with Dan. 10+ years ago, when the DAC Pack was at full force, standing the entire game on the sidelines with the gold shirts, it was a quite intimidating place to play. Now that the DAC Pack is just about 10 people, and the student section has been moved to behind the baskets, the DAC is not what it once was. But if they promote that a nationally ranked team is coming to the DAC and maybe they hand out shirts, encourage all wear them, and encourage standing for the entire game, that intimidation could return.

Behind the basket is not the problem. A student section there is still close enough to have an impact, a big one. The confines are still tight, there really isnt any excuse to not make an impact. Getting back to a sea/wall of gold shirts immediately ratchets up the intimidation factor. If they get by Hofstra Saturday I expect the DAC to be absolutely rocking on Thursday.
