i expect UConn to move to whatever the ACC ends up being once the GOR expires and/or current ACC members go to the SEC and B1G

Yup. The better question would be if UConn would join the ACC or the B12 as a non football member.

Would they?

ACC = yes, B12 if it's all sports = yes, B12 non-football only = no

Not even a question. Assuming they want to keep football at the FBS level (and they do), you don’t turn down 25+(?) million dollars more a year because basketball is a good fit where it currently resides.

Was it Geno who once said you want to get $30m just for showing up, or something like that? Maybe not.

ACC would be slam-dunk. They might think twice before a yes to the nB12. But a yes it would be, IMO.

I think we’d take a long look at a scheduling arrangement in football with path for ascension.

Of course. But still behind UCF/USF and Cincy on the wish list when backfill spots open up in the coming few years. Until then, the ACC is stuck in neutral.

Would UConn athletics be more successful in the Big East or in a league that stretches from Houston to Cincinnati to Orlando?

There's no doubt that money talks, but UConn just paid tens of millions of dollars to get out of that situation. Meanwhile they're on top of their athletic world having won a national title in basketball and gone to a bowl game in football.

The ACC is likely a different discussion, but the fates of Syracuse, Boston College, and Pitt in the ACC are a cautionary tale...
