This is nice, but I am very wary of these early QB commits. They get excited and want to be committed somewhere when they start their senior year, and ODU is their best G5 offer. Then, they have a good senior year and the P5s come calling and they see greener pastures. Examples: Vasko (Kansas), Billy Edwards (Wake Forest), Ajani Sheppard (Rutgers). When these have reneged on us, we have been left with nothing, except we got lucky late last year with Colton Joseph who was under-recruited because he was a late bloomer and Rahne knew his high school coach. I just hope the coaches take note of the recent history and keep recruiting hard for QBs in this class. Then, if they pull off the miracle and keep Henicle committed for another 6 months after the P5s come calling, all the better.

With a name like that, we don't need luck. It's destiny.

No need to make it personal. It’s not the same thing. We just got a new commitment for this season, which renews hope. It’s relevant. And still a need. Hoping someone in the know or the staff itself will shed some light on the situation. There’s two things we need, and until they happen, it’s worth talking about. 1. A QB. 2. A new basketball HC.

The third commit is in and he’s huge. Joshua Schuetzmann is a 6’7 285 LB OT from Montreal, Canada and plays at Williston Northampton In Massachusetts. Wake Forest, Boston College, Syracuse, UConn, UNH, Monmouth and Sacred Heart were all recruiting him.

Khalil Witherspoon from Pleasantville, NJ, is now the 4th commit of the class. He’s a 6’5 210 lb TE/OLB. He has offers from Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Boston College, Stony Brook, Coastal Carolina, Akron, Temple, Towson, UNH, Morgan State, Delaware State, Howard and Lehigh.

Might be wishful thinking but my instinct is that if a player already rejected an ACC offer to commit to ODU, that makes them unlikely to bail on us for an ACC signing day offer.

Maybe, but they have one more HS season to play that might improve their stock and be wooed away with better and more serious offers. Maybe even some better $$ that we can’t compete with.
