RE: Marchand & Ourand's Latest Comments on the Pac 12 don't sound good
"Pac-12 has said they don't want to do an all digital deal and it looks like that's Apple's strategy. So that leaves the CW, Scripps and those types of players."
RE: Marchand & Ourand's Latest Comments on the Pac 12 don't sound good
From 2011-2012, how many times did we read/hear about the next Big East TV deal being strong enough to keep everyone together? How often did we hear that money and exposure would be there? How many times was it spun through public channels that markets (i.e. Philadelphia, Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Cincinnati, Tampa, etc.) were going to provide a strong financial value to networks? Presidents spun it. ADs spun it. Even some coaches were spinning it.
At the end of the day, what you think your value is and what your market value is are two completely different things. Unless the market is willing to pay what you think you are deserving of, you aren't worth that.

This is not an encouraging report.
I alway thought Apple was a front runner. And maybe they are still doing the negotiation secretly but if Apple is out, I don’t see much hope for the P12. Maybe $200 million deal with ESPN?

Kirk Schulz is living in denial and everyone sees it.
Apple: "Probably not"
The Pac-12's strategy is Kliavkoff continues to kick the can and the Pac-12 holds together in ignorant bliss.
The 100% Apple deal still feels like the best bet. It Maximum Money. Apple has the MLS/Messi deal to legitimize them as a major player. The only reason Marchand says "Probably Not" on the Apple deal is because Pac-12 doesn't want to do 100% streaming. However, its the best offer by a landslide.
Sign it, maybe its enough money to keep the Pac-12 together. Maybe Colorado jumps for more exposure.

This is bad. All the major player are out. My guess is networks think the BIG will have another go at the pac12. They are not sure, who will be left in the conference after the raid. Not worth risking serious cash in it.
