FCS possible move ups
https://www.ncaa.org/news/2023/6/28/medi...hools.aspx

With the new changes for FCS move ups, what impact will these new changes have on current FCS teams?

Do schools try and move up now? One of the new changes is the fee for moving up will become $5 million.

Do FBS conferences bring up schools now to avoid the possibility of schools not having the $ to move up in the next few years? If invites are sent out now, FBS conferences can pick from all schools instead of picking only schools with $5 million.

Will FBS conferences be aggressive with additions or will they wait and see what happens with the P5’s?

I think if a school can't come up with 5 million then they shouldn't be FBS. No need to be able to pick from ALL schools when very very few are even deserving.

Question is how do you determine deserving?

RE: FCS possible move ups
I'm getting tired of the FBS talk. Honestly, I just want us in a stable conference at the FCS level and become competitive in all sports. Being at the rear end of the commissioner's cup in the current WAC is no bueno. Plus... I have yet to see the north end zone (which wasn't needed and hastily built) filled. So... why even consider FBS?

Ironic that now with the attendance requirement gone yall don't even need those bleachers. Maybe schools will start releasing actual butts in seats numbers now.

The Colorado move would make sense.

Something that puzzles me is why West Texas A&M has not pursued DI and knocked on the WAC door. They seem like a logical university to take the next step.

They will need a new President as their current one is extremely content in D2.

I thought they fired their Prez recently after a vote of no confidence. Something about a drag show on campus.

He did receive a vote of no confidence but he is still there.

I feel the PAC## is getting close to a position where the WAC was in terms of P5 status, fighting for its survival. Who out there is going to move the needle in terms of eyeballs, which is what gives the P5 its power?

San Diego St seems good. They’ve always drawn well. Does Fresno? San Jose St? Utah St? Air Force? Maybe Boise.

Exactly, and now they are 10,000 students and must have forgotten those days of being a solid athletic program.
