I think the word you are searching for is recruiting Weaver.

I generally hate high-budget teams, Yankees, Lakers, etc. They take it to another level with an athletic budget higher than most countries GDP. Add in their arrogance and pretty much no athletic department makes me root against them. The Weaver thing is just added crap.

Welp, as usual looks like we lost about half of the signess/commits to BCG's notorious closed-door offsesson practices. Unfortunately most of the guys missing are big men, so it looks like BCG is determined to make his Hustlemania "small-ball" work in the land of Giants that is the WAC Conference. Our guys playing like their hair is on fire every night is fun to watch and all, but we've already seen it can wear these kids out about midseason. Nonetheless, I applaud these young men for accepting the challenge and sticking with it! It's not an easy style of basketball to play and there aren't many players who are groomed for it. ACU has struggled some, but I think Tanner has done a good job at recruiting players and setting expectations. Also, we were lucky enough to have players who had been here extra time because of COVID and could help mentor them. I hope, in turn, that mentoring will continue. We are slowly working on size, but it is more length on the wings and outside, not necessarily bigs under the basket. The emphasis is still speed, aggressiveness and physicality. For now, we will remain a score off our defense first program.

Why no high-major OOC games, SFA? That nmsu-powderpuff scheduling isn't going to help us get where we want to be as a conference!

It's out! North American University! Wow!

ACU's OOC schedule is awesome. The Wildcats play Oklahoma State, North Carolina State, Arkansas, then a historically good Western Kentucky as well. It will be a tough time but they want to get better every game.

What stinks is they scheduled our AB exhibition game at the same time as the football game. I wanted to go watch and just get an idea of our guys before the season started and needed to pick up my parking placard. It's one of those things that's not a big deal, but just stupid... Sorry, not missing the UTU game.

Overall, it looks like the WAC is playing increasingly high level schedules. Looking for some good victories from WAC schools in their OOC games. The WAC is a strong mid major basketball conference as all of you know. We just need to pull off the wins across the board. I agree with IT above, you have to play the big boys to beat them.

Agree RC and I think we will get some wins here and there. I think with time we should begin to see more consistent OOC wins against high level opponents.
