Great plane. We were right next to Flying Tigers at the airport. They'd yell at me, "get that piece of **** out of here" when it came in every morning. lol

YRC is another story. They have defaulted on pension payments of $50 million and just had $1.5 billion of their debt refinanced.

As a courier for Federal Express we had 12 drivers in the entire Chicago area. I became the 13th in 1973. My stepfather a Memphis grad was a CPA for Federal Express. He was on Getwell the original FedEx.

Me and another guy had to unload a French falcon leer jet every morning at 4:00 am at O'hare. I was the 13th guy. I had to take all the out of the way stops for the other guys from Waukegan to Whiting Indiana. Most of my stops were in downtown Chicago. The ones that took too much time for the guys working the loop. Nobody wanted to deal with the Merchandise Mart. It was a nightmare.

They called me the 'Rat Man', because I always got the white lab rats that had to go to the Illinois Institue of Technology. They smelled horrible in the summer. We had no AC.

Anyway, I made 5.65 an hour. Time and a half overtime. I was the richest 18 year old I knew. Bought a killer sound system that summer. lol

My stepfather paid my way to come to Memphis. It was a great experience.

This is a picture of the plane I used to unload. A Panel van and a 16 ft straight truck got everything for the entire city of Chicago.

I sold Professional Video equipment for many years & I had a lot of orders from FedEx purchasing for a rack-mountable Sony 13" Monitor/TV.

They were shipped to Little Rock Airport for installation in those Jets.

A lot of those old Dassault Falcon 20D Jets are unbelievably still in service somewhere.

I worked at the hub in the 80's during college as well. Was working in the call center during the 1997 UPS strike. I could tell some killer stories. Management threw out all the rules about OT, consecutive days worked, etc. It was beserk but made some serious $

Yep UPS drivers are well paid. They should try making what FEDEX drivers make. For the same work.

It looks like YRC is going to file for bankruptcy as early as Monday. They are the 3rd largest LTL carrier in the US with 30,000 employees, including 23,000 teamsters; with revenues of $5.2 billion per year.

This is going to cause supply chain issues throughout the country for months on end. It looks like UPS has averted a strike.
