Here are the final OVV standings. Chicago State was only 1 win away from being conference runner up, so there is plenty of room for optimism going into this tourney.

And since our blowout loss to Liberty we are 3-3-3 with all our losses being by only one goal.

Looking forward to tomorrows tournament game. They’ve been really competitive lately, even with the conference leader SIUE.

Got to take care of business against Lindenwood first.

Now that I heard the results of the first match, I really wish CSU was on the other side of the bracket.

For those that didn’t see/hear, Eastern Illinois advanced past Liberty. EIU will play Incarnate Word next. If CSU wins they will play undefeated SIUE.

But we’ll worry about that after this game. If Chicago can’t beat SIUE, they won’t likely have been able to advance any way.

Despite the 1-0 deficit, Chicago played very good soccer for a lot of the half. Let’s see what the Cougars can do after the break. CSU is definitely in this game.

They had so many opportunities to score in the game.. it’s unfortunate they weren’t able to put one in.

They made some progress this year though. I’ll gladly take it.

Both tournament teams Chicago State played this year lost in the first round. Omaha beat the Cougars badly early in the season, lost to Missouri State by 1 goal.

SIUE, who beat the Cougars 2-1, went undefeated until the NCAA tournament, lost to Memphis by a goal.

Always fun to see how opponents do in the post season.
