Big week for the UAC...

UCA, ACU and SUU each have a chance to knock off a ranked team. Promise you ACU has ZERO fear of UIW, especially at home.

Tarleton gets a crack at Texas Tech in Lubbock.

SFA plays for Chief Caddo! 04-cheers

RE: UAC FOOTBAL WEEK #3
There are several interesting matchups this week. Sagarin bumped the UAC to #3. It's time to make a statement as a conference...

Beat those Techsters... Nothing like the feeling of big surprises against the big boys. It was great when ACU beat UT Austin in the NCAA Tournament. Raise the WAC banner Texans.

Icy Whites!
Last game was crazy with UNA and us. Purple tops. White pants. White tops. Purple pants. I’m convinced Vic’s interception was because of that.

Not really related to UAC but reported by CBS Sports:

"Through two weeks as an FBS program, Sam Houston has mustered just three points and 16 total first downs while starting 0-2 with losses against BYU and Air Force. This is a program won the FCS national title in 2020. Was it really worth the jump?"

Long term, yes.

In the old FBS landscape maybe. In the current landscape, where DI-AA G5 schools aren't as valuable because more money and coverage is consolidating at the top, I'm not so sure.

Is that some Psy-ops move to confuse the Red Riders as to which conference our football team is not housed in?02-13-banana If I thought it would give us an advantage I would do it!!!! I do wish the ASUN schools could have joined the WAC in football only instead of this generic football conference. The WAC has name recognition and the grandfather clause. But it is what it is.

I am hoping for but not expecting a win this weekend. Was proud of SUU and EKU for hanging tough against their P5 opponents and hope we can do the same and at least make it respectable.

With access to CFP money and a chance at a playoff berth, it likely always will be much more lucrative.

I agree for now, but still not sold that those things will be there in the future for anyone else but the DI-A programs (Consolidated P5 schools & conferences).

RE: UAC FOOTBAL WEEK #3
Just got back to the AB&B in Lubbock. I was very disappointed with our performance tonight. I wasn’t expecting a Texan victory but I was hoping for better play. I think we are better at all positions except maybe one, QB.

I love being D1. The D1 game day atmosphere is so much more fun D2.

Go Texans!!!!!!!

ACU got hijacked by Incarnate Word. Wildcats lose 20-27. We had so many starters out of the game and the backups were not able to overcome a fine QB performance by the Cardinals. Certainly not our best performance.

RE: UAC FOOTBAL WEEK #3
Can't throw 3 INT's and expect to compete against an FBS team. We were able to overcome it against McNeese, but not tonight. There were some positives: we did manage 350 yards of offense, 20 first downs, and had a balanced attack of 150 yards rushing with 200 through the air. Held Tech to 400 yards, defended the pass well, but just couldn't stop the run. Make no mistake, it was a beatdown, but I'd say we did better than the score would indicate. Our players didn't look outclassed physically, just more nervous and unsure of themselves, which is somewhat to be expected. Not having Darius Cooper showed up tonight in a major way., making our pass game 2-dimensional and easier to defend. Omayebu stepped up with 12 catches. Moving forward I'd like to see more QB2 Daniel Greek and RB Caleb Lewis. Prayers for Jalen Smith, all indicators pointing to he's gonna be OK.

The final score was disappointing. I was hoping it would have been closer.
