It's nice to see the Miami (fl) fans reward their Hurricanes after a HUGE victory over A&M with an empty stadium.

They used to blame their attendance issues on having to play Temple and Rutgers (when in the Big East). I wonder what their problem is now?

The lack of interest down there is crazy. I should note, if Maryland doesn't have a respectable attendance tonight, we should be calling them out too.

Penn State and Illinois have played 26 times already? I wonder how many since PSU joined the Big Ten.

RE: Open Thread - Week 3 CFB '23
I started graduate school at Penn State in fall 1996. That year, Penn State and Illinois did not play each other. The first ever "Schmolik Bowl" (Wikipedia) was held October 4, 1997 in Champaign, IL (while I was a student at Penn State). Penn State won 41-6. I graduated PSU in 1998 so I was never a student at Penn State when Illinois came to town and I don't recall ever seeing a Schmolik Bowl as an alum (I believe I've seen two Penn State games and one Illinois game as an alum). I usually root for Penn State in these games because they have bigger aspirations in football (and likewise root for Illinois when they play in men's basketball). I have more fond memories of Illinois, I spent four years there as opposed to two years, it was my first college experience, I was younger and got to enjoy it more).

Indiana comes up short, but showed a lot of heart in that 2nd half. Congrats to Louisville.

I agree, but at the same time I understand why. It might not show on the field yet, but the football program is in a better position that it has been for a long time. It sucks, a lot of people are missing out on the joy of the "rebuild", if you want to call it that.

I appreciate the weekly stats and info you post cubucks.04-cheers
