RE: Native American group sue Commanders
One of the best things I have heard in a while. Polls showed for years the overwhelming majority of native Americans were never offend by the name, they were proud of it.

The only people offended were intolerant white liberal douchebags who are offended by everything under the sun and ruin everything they touch. If they have there way there will not be a single sports teams, statue or landmark left honoring natives, because woke liberals mindlessly screamed that such things are racist. They are systematically erasing every single thing that honors natives from our culture, and they justify it by calling us racists and appropriators for the mere existence of such things. They see themselves as protecting natives.....ironically by erasing everything that honors and remembers them.

Woke white liberals are literally the most regressive, condescending and bigoted people in America in 2023.

I call them the Redskins to this day and I always will. Its a GREAT name and honors natives and did so in our nations capitol.

I'm not a fan of the Washington team...but the NFL lost a lot when they changed the team's name to the "Commanders".
I'm partial to the Redskins myself...the rivalry between the Cowboys and Redskins is a storied part of NFL history.

Same here, I am a well known life long Dallas Cowboys fan and this issue pisses me off royally.

Long live the WASHINGTON REDSKINS.

One of the most storied franchises and colorful mascots in NFL history.

This is life in post Obama America boys, get used to it. If you think this is bizarre just wait, something will come along tomorrow to make this look like BAU. A vocal minority now runs everything from foreign and domestic policy in our government to the local fast food outlet where you can get shot at for not getting your curly fries like you ordered. We have chicks with dicks and boys with vajayjays. Up is down, out is in, the sky is not blue despite what your lying eyes tell you and drag queens are conducting story hour for 4 and 5 year olds while house-dads sit by and cheer them on when they aren't washing their wife's boyfriend's car. It's mostly because we live in a country that's pretty much run by woke white liberal women now.

I can only take comfort in the fact that my ride is almost over and hopefully I won't live long enough to see the worst of it. I feel bad for my kids and grandkids but maybe they'll be the ones who do something to restore some sanity to America.

I liked the Washington Football Team moniker personally but it doesn’t really matter to me what you call it. What billion dollar organizations want to call themselves doesn’t trigger me in any way.

Is there anything more condescending than white liberals telling minorities how they should think and feel and what to get offended over?

Some of us think minorities don't need us to tell them how to think or feel. They can do that just fine without our "help".

I disagree with you on many things, but this is not one of them.

Somewhat related... I remember a few years ago I was traveling in California and I happened to speak to a group of Native Americans. In fact, that was the term I used when referring to them, "Native American." Oddly, they gave me the strangest look, appearing offended; so I asked them if I had somehow offended them. "Yes," they replied, "we don't like the term 'Native American' and would prefer it if you used 'Indian.'" In Arizona, using the term "Indian" got me a similar negative reaction, which is how I discovered that the Navajo prefer the term "Native American."

Can't please everyone, and everyone has their preferences.

RE: Native American group sue Commanders
My greatgrandfather was Choctaw. He taught in a Choctaw school in Miss--one of the few schools for Indians that the Fed Gov allowed. Another grandfather was part Cherokee.

There are 574 Federally 'recognized' tribes in the U.S. I like to know the tribe when someone talks about Indians or Native Americans. For example, my partner's family (French) were partially killed off by the Iroquois in the 1600's. (lol I'm sure they did their share of striking back.)

In the area I live now there were and still are 13 tribes. I remember around Memphis, there was Chickasaw, Choctaw and Cherokee.

But I could care less what other people call me, themselves or anyone else. lol
