RE: 2023 MAC Football - Week 6 Gamethread
The fighting Emoos are looking for a win on Ball State (not a shocker), winning by two possessions in the 1st half with some offense in them for once.

Ohio and Kent State tied late in the 1st half. Yikes. Although I have noticed that Ohio's QB is vulnerable to have a sh!tty game to a decent degree... KSU, as terrible as they are, doesn't have a weak D.

If only NIU could play Akron 6 more times we might have a winning season.

28-7 NIU with 5:30 left in 2nd qtr.

35-7 NIU at the half.

Surprised we haven't seen Akron QB Undercuffler who destroyed us last season.

The MAC is I dare say... up? Overall I think we may rise as the season goes on. The Parity from 1st to worst is closer than I have seen since I started watching cfb. 1 thru 4 are not 3 TDs better than 12th thru 25. And 25 isn't a score better than say 50th. 130th is as close to 90th as I've seen as well. Transfer portal taking the key key kids and the middle P5s are getting better HS kids.

MAC Commish at the NIU-Akron game.

They talked about:

- realignment and MAC staying the same
- women's bball and Cleveland hosting
- NIL opportunities, but dislike of lack of regulations. Said the Utah trucks is not what NIL is for and is wrong.
- If opportunities for P5 at G5 will be available with P5 conferences growing and more conference games

My goodness, NIU RB Antario Brown having a MONSTER game.

13 carries for 280 yards and 4 TDs.

Bowling Green is such an odd team. They're either competitive or getting blown out. Doesn't seem to be any consistency to them.

Miami just wore the Falcons down. A couple of bad calls really hurt us in the first half. (A Falcon interception was taken away by a roughing the passer penalty that wasn't really that, for example.) But Miami was the better team today. Congratulations, collar poppers!

I still like Bowling Green's chances to qualify for a bowl game. We'll see what happens the rest of the way.

The Bulls have some athletes and luckily they show up in MAC games where they are on more level footing talent-wise.

Been that way for a few years now, it seems. Unpredictable even by the wild, parity MAC standards.

Yeah, good game. I was worried about this game. BG will win more games (hopefully vs Toledo). What I like the most is Miami's Defense giving up only 3 points in our first 2 MAC games.

BGSU is not going to qualify for a bowl. It was a fluke that they made it last year. They might get to five wins...thanks to the opportunity to play Kent, Akron and Ball State...but that appears to be the ceiling.

Not MAC related, but the three new Big XII schools from the AAC (UCF, Houston, Cincy) are currently a combined 0-7 in the conference.

Those are 3 lucky schools who were at the right place at the right time. Big XII got them out of survival desperation at the time, not knowing that one year later they'd be feasting on the PAC 12.

What is the balance of their front sevens versus their skill position players? I get the impression that teams that lean more heavily on their skill positions tend to be more volatile from one week to the next.

RE: 2023 MAC Football - Week 6 Gamethread
BG benefits again ( had a lot of luck facing back up QB's last year) from facing a back up for the second half. We will do so again this weekend at home against Akron as the march for bowl eligibility continues. Get the feeling that 7-5 or 6-6 is Scot Loeffler's ceiling here...so forgive me if I don't do cartwheels
