Example last year Nicole May for OU had 14 earned runs on the season, allowed 7 homers. In Megan Good's best year she allowed 22 earned runs, 9 homers.

Fleets line vs UVA sounds super promising!

I agree. 04-cheers

I think if we are a top 40 or better team this year it will be due to Fleet.

I can’t recall where JMU softball finished in the NCAA rankings last year (and I’m too lazy to look it up), but I would hope Fleet has that kind of impact, if not greater. This upcoming season should tell JMU fans if the program can anticipate a return to top 25 status.

RE: 2024 Softball
This was essentially the lineup the last 3 games.
C Henzler
SS Campbell
1b Mathis
3rd J Hall
DH Grube
RF Butler
EH H Hall
2b M Edwards
LF Carrier/Fulton
CF Pinder
Didn’t see Gleason or Fishman in any games.
We beat Longwood 9-7. The star was Humphrey. 3 inn 1r 1h. 0 bb 6ks.
Grube and List weren’t as impressive.

The pitching results from fall ball definitely sound promising for the Spring.

Thanks. It's difficult to even get basic information about the team if it's not on Twitter or this message board.

I've noticed the same thing. I am hoping to start a blog following the team soon. Have the website setup just need to actually post some things.

Not a ton of necessarily groundbreaking news but some things that stood out. Definitely worth a listen.
-Playing tournaments at South Carolina and Arizona State, in an effort to boost RPI.
-She expects Kirsten Fleet to be an impact player, probably talked more about her than any other player.
-Short mention of Peyton List, says she has tons of ability.
-"Not sure" that KK will lead off, was impressed with Henzler batting leadoff this Fall.
-When asked about the offense mentioned J. Hall, Reed Butler, Hallie Hall, Avery Pinder, Abbie Campbell, and Madison Edwards.

RE: 2024 Softball
Glad I was able to find the thread buried under basketball (best in JMU history )and football (best in history?). Just to give a bump. The schedule should be coming out sometime in December.

I'm curious to see how tough the early season schedule will be, they need to schedule tough for a chance at an at large bid.

RE: 2024 Softball
I know we are playing at Maryland and against North Florida, UC Davis, Omaha and Arizona State. I thought we were going to play South Carolina but I don’t see us on their schedule.

It doesn't look like South Carolina has released their full schedule, it has one tournament to start the year and then SEC games. I'm sure they are hosting a weekend tournament somewhere in the three weeks between their opening tourney and start of conference play.

RE: 2024 Softball
Schedule has been posted. Playing six tournament teams from last year and hosting two tournaments. I wonder how much money Weiler Orthodontics is shelling out for sponsoring the season and two tourneys? Looks like we are playing in the Gamecock tournament that South Carolina is hosting, which should answer JMad's and Lost's questions above.

Is there a list of opponents that we would be playing in the different tournaments?

Not quite as strong of an out of conference schedule as I was hoping for to be honest. Really going to be important to win against USC and Arizona St if they're hoping for an at large.

I had the same feeling. Not sure if we are just not being invited to the larger tournaments, but if we can compete for Sun Belt regular and tournament championships, I have a feeling we will have more opportunities.
