Shockingly, there is still an outside shot to win the MACW. If UT loses to EMU or BG, CMU controls their own destiny.
Bowling Green fans would argue with this. I think both programs have punched above their weight at times while looking also inept at times. Our fans are pretty unhappy about the performances against Ohio and Miami. I personally think we are closer to beating those schools than it looked on the scoreboard, but others are still pretty horrified.
In other news, McElwain seems to be saying: It wasn't him.
BG is also pretty confusing. Their two losses are blowouts and Akron is bad. A win tonight could def add some more credibility.
I interpreted what coach Mac said, differently. All he said was they didn't see Stalions name, which lends credence to the fact that he may have used a different name. This would make sense to me given it was 2023, so UM perhaps was made aware that others were suspicious of their illegal scheme.
If I had to guess, I think this probably is Stalions and our PR dept. is ensuring we have the proper measures in place if and when the NCAA comes knocking. There are some powerful connections with CMU-UM, mainly between Harbaugh and McElwain, but also Stalions and Karschnia. CMU should be able to determine whether this is a staff member (it's not) or a visitor (perhaps) anywhere from 10 mins to a couple of hours. It goes without saying, this may not be Stalions, but as time goes on without identification, it only increases the likelihood of it being him especially given the sunglasses (at night) and the potential camera within the sunglasses.

To be clear: By this, I mean McElwain seems to be saying he didn't know anything about the pass, and this wasn't on him. I do not mean that he was suggesting this was a case of mistaken identity, or something.

There are not many of those passes given away, especially for a road game at a power program, so it shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down to who was issued that pass. To come back and say it wasn't him is one thing, but to say "it wasn't him, it was John Doe a noted alumn and donor that looks like him" would be another. Instead it seems like the "investigation" is being drawn out to get all of the ducks in a row.

This seems worth saying a second time, since I guess I wasn't clear.

I'm not 100% positive of this, but I do not believe an individual person's name is printed on the sideline passes in most cases. And I don't believe that security checks your id to match anything listed on the sideline pass, they just make sure its visible. So it would be very easy for someone who had a sideline pass/lanyard to give it to someone else to put around their neck and go on the field.
Not saying it is the case with this, just that it would be very easy for someone to do.

NIU has historically played bad when the games are in Mt. Pleasant. Since 2000, the Huskies are 2-9 in Mt. Pleasant. Since 2007, CMU is 11-5 overall against the Huskies.

Toledo has won 11 of 13 against the Chips... so odd. The game between UT and CMU has fallen last on the MAC schedule numerous times.
