Not bad, considering it was snowing at both games

2 of the better fanbases in the league... would have been 1,700 at Akron and 5,200 at Ball State. Kids were trick or treating... not ideal. Yesterday goes beyond normal midweek MACtion circumstances.

I think even the CMU fans would tell you there weren't 9,600 fans in attendance. I couldn't watch the Toledo game since it was on at same time as NIU game. The joys of midweek games, they overlap and split up viewers.

There were probably 7k Toledo fans in the stands and 3k in the press box.

MBG posted the nielsons which had 324k viewers on ESPN2 for last night's game. Beats the 46k for the UT vs. Miami game on ESPNU...

Did you hear? The halftime report for the BG-Ball State game they're going to talk about the first set of CFB playoff rankings (who cares, they did an entire show about them on ESPN yesterday) and a giraffe sighting in Stillwater.

Maybe they will talk about the game they are telecasting....

Exactly. We get such little respect on this network.

I honestly didn’t know anyone out there actually watched pregame/postgame/halftime shows.

I switched over to KSU-Akron during the half. Btw, did anybody else find BSU's playcalling on its final drive and BG's Offense short yardage inside the 5 poor?

Some of our fans have been carping about so many of the short yardage calls consisting of sweeps right and left, and the ESPN color analyst certainly didn't care for them.

I'm not sure going straight up the gut was necessarily going to work for us. Camden Orth tried that once for no gain. The Falcon offensive line didn't really get any push.

On the second short yardage series, it might have been worth trying a pass play earlier in the series.

As for Ball State's calls near the end: Our color analyst, John Gibson, did not care for the Cardinal pass plays along the sideline. Those were tough plays to make in his view.

In fairness to the Cards on that last drive: They had a lot of ground to cover and no timeouts. I can see why they got away from the slow, methodical running game that had worked pretty well for them, and I can see why, with 12 seconds left, they felt making a play along the sideline was their only real chance to get within field goal range.
