Women's basketball
Time to get started. A lot of experience, plus a few new faces.

Loyola is 0-1 for the season, having lost to UIC by 16. Last season they were 6-24.

Not a pretty one by the team tonight. Just wayyy too many turnovers. Something that has plagued the team year after year.

Not pretty at all. The turnovers were ridiculous. Doesn’t matter who you are playing, you can take care of the ball better than that. Even if taking care of it at all costs costs you in some possessions, and you end up short in the shot clock or rushed, you’re still giving yourself a chance to score. And making the other team defend.

There may be finances involved, but I just don't understand the women's scheduling philosophy this season. We only have one non-D1 game, and it is Jan 10 before we get to it. These poor kids are going to be so beaten down that may never bounce back.

What a letdown! Losing in triple overtime.

That triple OT game was a good one— was really hoping they’d get the win. Evansville is struggling as well so it was one of the more winnable chances they have on the schedule.

I get the feeling that we are going to have to do some hard recruiting to solve the problem.

The ladies have five games in January home against non-power conference teams. This is the time to get rolling.

RE: Women's basketball
I haven’t watched any women’s games this year, but I have casually followed their results.

One good thing is, they have at least had some close games. Not a lot, but around 4 games that were 10 points or less. They are one of the worst teams around, but some close games, including a triple OT, at least show they can compete with some other low level teams.

Coming up, they have home and away games with future NEC opponent Long Island. They are winnable games. LIU only has one win and a lot of bad losses. Couple those games with some likely games being added/or not yet listed against sub D1 teams and there is still a chance to get some wins this season.

I believe this is a first year coach, hired late in the recruiting year, so a season like this is to be expected.
