MyBB LaSalle
NU hits the road for a while starting Saturday afternoon at LaSalle. LaSalle won their season opener at home against CAA and Big 5 rival Drexel.

NU has bigger guards and LaSalle has a couple of Euro bigs.

I do think we could win this game if we take care of the ball and play good defense, but I get the feeling we'll come up short in this one.

NU is a 4.5-point underdog

RE: LaSalle
I watched most of the Drexel game and Drexel didn't play that great. Lasalle starts four guards and most of their scoring comes from their guards, especially Brantley and Brickus.
I think Harold earned himself some more minutes based on his defense in the BU game and the Lasalle game would be a good time to establish himself as the guy who can slow down the other team's best scoring guard.

RE: LaSalle
I think their announcer said it best...."There were. Four times when they were down by nine, ten or eleven they could have quit but each time they clawed their way back." Would the Husky teams of the last two years showed the same grit?

I feel sorry for Chris. We know how he plays his heart out and he just had one of those days where nothing goes right. He probably blames himself for the loss.

The sophs logged a lot of minutes today and did a lot of good things. Looks like the investment Coen made in them last year is paying off.

The announcer who kept screaming, "POW!!!" was annoying.

Looking forward to watching the lady Huskies tomorrow on the ESPN app.

Honestly NUGuy, I don't.

Here's why... I hate the fact that we continue to run plays through Doherty. He's not Laettner or McHale. But the coaching staff, in particular, Coen, treats him like he is. He's not that kind of player.

Yes, he missed some shots that he would normally make, but whenever we get on a run, he kills it when they try to get him involved. He spins into the lane and gets his shot blocked or gets stripped. He also can make an ill-advised pass. I wish he went pro in Europe as this team would get up and floor better and not clog the paint.

I don't dislike him personally nor do I think he sucks. It's just that we have some thoroughbreds and he's a Clydesdale.

I agree the LaSalle announcer was a homer with an annoying call on 3's.

Despite the close loss, I loved the fact that Pridgen, Woods, King and Troutman played well.

This was a game we could've won. The missed FT hurt us.

RE: LaSalle
Let's revisit this question later in the season rather than right after Chris had what was probably the worst game of his career. Will upcoming games look like yesterday or more like his double double against BU when he went six for eleven with a few nice assists or we can see what happens when he goes down for a few games and Nwagha fills in for him.
