Same observation. I was at all of them. All you have to do is look around and its obvious. The game against Maine was empty

It’s not a debate unless you want to argue against the factual numbers. I’m agreeing that Tribe fans mill around, all you have to do is look at the south end zone, all those people have seats somewhere. The tickets are sold. The insinuation that the games are poorly attended, wherever the ticket holder may be, is just false.

I'm not arguing with you about paid attendance. That's what is reported for game attendance, but that doesn't mean that everyone who bought a ticket attended that game. Butts in seats versus paid attendance are very different things. I would ask you, how many games did you attend this season? If the answer is a lot, then we can have a lively conversation about what you saw versus me, but if the answer is not too many, you may want to have a little hubris self reflection.

The first two games were played in the rain. If they were poorly attended , not sure that’s making any accurate comment about the support of the fanbase. Even FBS stadiums are half full in the rain. Our next three games were all 10,000 plus.

What’s the point of arguing this. You all know the south end zone is bloated, these people have seats. I’m not buying the insinuation of poor support. That’s what you’re pushing and it’s just false.

I think more of an effort should be made to get locals in the area to attend. Nearly 150k people in the Williamsburg/James City/York County area. Even getting half a percent of those people at a home game would mean a full stadium.

As a W&M alum, I feel somewhat obligated to point out that half a percent of 150k is only 750 people.

Oop I need to stop doing late night math, I meant 5%. Point still stands that it would be a very small percentage. I think an additional 7k fans in the stadium would make a big difference.

Regardless of your math, your point is correct.

Do you honestly believe if everyone hanging out in the Beer Garden endzone were to sit in their assigned seats we’d have a full stadium? I’m guessing we could fit them all into the (usually) sparse visitors section, leaving the upper deck of the home side untouched and at less than 50% capacity.

I’ve also noticed there are quite a few students that sit on the home side instead of the student section, contributing to the perception that the home side seats are full.

Did I say that? I’m only battling this ongoing drumbeat of poor support. It’s such crap. We are 2nd in the league in football attendance and 3rd in basketball attendance. Those are facts, not personal perceptions.

Good grief. Sorry, Sitting Bull, you are absolutely correct and the rest of us should just recognize that. I apologize.

I’d bet my money on Coach Taylor being the new QBs Coach. I think that helps the offense out a bit. I think Matt Johns did a good job with the QBs and recruited the position well.

Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports that Taylor will indeed take over handling QBs.

Hopefully the CAA will release the schedules soon for next season. It looks like last year they announced on 1/10.

The only certain home game I see is Hampton. Hoping for Delaware and Elon. Would be nice to see UNH back. Maybe UAlbany or NC A&T.

At least the OOC home games are strong with VMI and Furman. Both are more appealing than basically anyone on the 2023 schedule save maybe Richmond.

Montana’s north end zone is populated by what they call the Griz crazies. They are loud throughout the game and really pump the home field environment. NDSU had 7 procedure penalties yesterday.

I miss the positioning at Zable. Our north end zone had the same culture, albeit smaller. Today it’s more of a picnic area. No enthusiasm.

I don’t care the cost of placing the stands back for the football season. If we want to create a better atmosphere at Zable, this to me would be a great place to start.
The endzone seats at Zable were great!! I watched many a game from the north endzone!!

2024 schedule is out. No New Hampshire or Villanova. Hampton, Bryant, Elon, and Campbell are the home conference games. Towson, Stony Brook, A&T, and Richmond on the road.

My goodness that's an awful schedule. Looks like I'll forego season tickets again this year and go to games if I get a free weekend. At this point I imagine it has to be a decision supported by the athletic department to continue to give us no Villanova and no Delaware (even in their final year which is just ridiculous). Just super disappointing.

Six home games:

VMI
Furman
*Hampton
*Campbell. HC
*Elon
*Bryant

That’s not a bad home slate. Bryant is the softee but beyond that, I like that we apparently have Elon and Campbell on a permanent cycle.

Disappointed no Delaware but on the upside, there are 5 home games where we can expect some visiting fans, more than the norm on our CAA slates.

10-2 or 9-3 regular season with that schedule will make it very difficult to climb to a respectable ranking.
