Or the extra games go on ESPN+

Who knows? ...

The schools in the conference? They certainly should know what kind of media contract change is on offer, before voting on an expansion.

I haven't been saying it's plausible that y'all can get 2xESPN2, 2xCBSSN and 2xESPNU for three weeks in October and therefore y'all should expand, ...

... I've been saying it's plausible that y'all can get that and, if you can, your Presidents are going to go for it.

It might be a stronger appeal to your University Presidents than to some of your fans, but the Universities pay the larger amount of money to the Athletic Departments for the games to be played, so I reckon he who pays the piper calls the tune.

However, rather than fighting against ESPN+ full stop, I'd press for all ESPNU games to also be on ESPN+.

UMass is a known property by ESPN and currently holds UMass media rights. Only the first FCS game was on ESPN3. All other games are on ESPN+ or the 1 game per year on ESPNU or perhaps ESPN2 for the Missouri game this year. Last year the Toledo game was on ESPNU.

Quote:In the 2023 and 2024 seasons, at least one home game will be televised on ESPN networks in addition to streaming. "We are excited to showcase Massachusetts home football games exclusively on ESPN platforms in the years ahead through this multi-year agreement, "said Dan Margulis, ESPN senior director of programming and acquisitions. "Between this new collaboration and our deals with the Atlantic 10 and Hockey East, ESPN networks will be the go-to for UMass fans."

I don't know if UMass has any leverage, but I'd press for any ESPN3 game to be simulcast on ESPN+ even harder than I'd press for any ESPNU games to be simulcast on ESPN+.

Except for the first game in 2022 against Stony Brook, all games have been selected for ESPN+ or in the case of Toledo, ESPNU. Will have to wait for the 12 day window to see which channel the on campus game with Missouri airs.

Realize logic does not always apply, but would think since UMass currentl has a game on the ESPN Channels, it would increase CUSA games aired.
