Vermont
I originally put tonight's game as a loss. Vermont is now number 15 in the mid major top 25 poll after beating number four Yale and teams like Charleston. Their coach talks a lot about how deep their bench is but tonight will test that. In the closing moments of Saturdays game against Yale Shamir Bogues collapsed onto the floor and eventually was helped onto the sideline by two coaches unable to put any weight on one leg. The next day he was seen wearing a boot. He is their captain/playmaker. A second starter, Veretto, and their best big had a bad game against Yale going zero for nine from deep. After the game it was announced that his eye was scratched early in the game and as of yesterday he has not been cleared to play.

RE: Vermont
Healthy or not if we speed up the pace, take care of the ball and go to the rim we can win this game.

UVM’s injuries make it a lot better to get another win tonight.

Interesting. Going to be another chance to see if we can execute in close/late situations in seems.

RE: Vermont
We played OK. Not great but OK. Second-half defense was much better than the first, but overall perimeter defense was not nearly good enough. A few tough breaks on close looks (Chris and Masai) at the 2 minute mark could have swung the game.

Another botched end of game. There was 37.8 and we fouled a 77% free throw shooter. Then, we had zero urgency on the other end and tried a two pointer inside of 8 seconds. It is what it is at this point.

RE: Vermont
This is not the Vermont we used to play when we were in the America East conference. As the announcer said they are a top fifty team in the country in FG % and three point FG %. We are not. They are ranked in the top 25 midmajor poll. We are not.

One thing I like about our team is that we don't take bad shots. I can't say we took anything but wide open threes. Neither did Vermont. Theirs went in. Ours...not so much. I'm glad I didn't have to watch a game where two best players were on the court.

I see it differently....Vermont should never lose to Northeastern. This isn't 1995.

RE: Vermont
MJ......I don't he know about "never" but I get what you are saying. Without looking up head to head records NU has had a lot of success against Vermont in the past. Obviously, especially under Brennen, they had some good teams but NU Vermont games were usually onesided. I have no idea how Vermont has been able to attract the talent to the iceberg but they have......consistently in the past maybe six or eight years. Maybe you can offer some insight. If anyone thinks we should never lose to Vermont they haven't been paying attention.

You couldn't wait to come on here to troll and be an apologist for UVM - who Maine hasn't beaten since 1995...

That's my point. Losing to Vermont highlights the difference in coaching and how far NU has fallen. Point is still that NU should never lose to Vermont.
