RE: Air Cosh gone
Well this stings, losing an OC is pretty damaging when trying to rebuild. Hopefully current recruiting commits don't take a hit.

Cosh must have "up and comer" vibes if he's getting pulled from a 4-8 team for head coaching gigs.

RE: Air Cosh gone
I wonder if we'll see the same offense, or make a hire and let him go a different route. With such extreme roster turnover in college football now, holding on to the same offense for many years has less value for the players.

Everybody in CFB pretty much runs the same offense. Only differences are in terminology.

RE: Air Cosh gone
Not sure how to feel about this one. He must be doing something right to jump up to his first head coaching gig, in a good FCS conference no less. He's got his work cut out for him. Stony Brook went 0-10 this season, getting dominated in just about every game.

Our offense looked good sometimes, downright anemic at other times. But it's also hard to judge after just one season. It sucks losing a coordinator though, and right before signing day. Here's hoping Taylor can keep the class intact and get a new OC in here ASAP.

RE: Air Cosh gone
It is strange that the new coach couldn't keep the only coordinator he brought with him for more than a season. Especially when all the hype about Taylor was the new air raid offense (that didn't look great tbh).

RE: Air Cosh gone
Cosh is back where he belongs, FCS. The last two weeks our Offense played like dog$Hit. It's also sad we are losing coaches to Stony Brook. I dont want to hear that its a HC job......

Wheres the support Bartholomae promised? Start paying the coaches!

He did start Salopek early on who is at best a FCS talent.

He probably pursued the HC job because he was in over his head at the FBS level. Hopefully his replacement has more FBS experience.

Yep. Moron. Taylor needs to hire a more experienced OC.

"Moron"?

Taylor, who was an OC himself, hired Cosh.

You don't think Taylor had any say who starting QB was?

I’m sure Taylor would take the viewpoint of his OC and QB coach (both Cosh) in year 1

Salopek was, obviously, not FBS starter quality. So it's fair to call it a mistake. But with the number of tries he got between multiple coaching staffs there must have been something there that made them think he had that in him. Didn't we have people saying he starred in the spring game? Maybe he's just really good in practice but not games for whatever reason. Maybe he picks up the offense really quick. I don't know.

I did say that for the spring game. I was there and he was excellent. Not the same QB from the year before. Unfortunately he couldn't keep the magic going. I switched allegiance to Wolff real quick. Took the coaches a while longer unfortunately.

I was also at the Spring game and thought the same thing. He had by far the best day of the 3 in both the scrimmage and skills competitions. It didn’t totally surprise me when he was announced as the starter at the beginning of the season. That being said, in actual game situations he often looked like a deer in the headlights and to me, just didn’t have the poise that Wolf showed when he eventually started.

Adrenaline is one hell of a drug, and not everyone is affected the same by it.
