Kwik Trip Tournament
Men's Hockey was back on the ice after a long break. Tonight they faced Minnesota Duluth in the semifinals of the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee (the Bucks arena).
After spotting the Bulldogs 2 goals in the 1st period, NU scored 4 of the next five goals to win 4-3 in OT.
Freshman goalie Cam Whitehead won this game for NU, making several game-winning saves in his 33 stops.
Soph. F Jack Williams recorded a hat-trick, including the game-winner in OT.
The Huskies will play in the championship game tomorrow against the winner of the Air Force-Wisconsin. It will be a jammed arena if the Badgers win tonight!

Williams made some flashy plays as a freshman but it looks like he has arrived. I see that Hunter Macdonald is back on the ice, finally.

If Williams and Lund can be consistent this team could take off. McDonald coming back is HUGE. He played in his first game since getting injured in the opener.
NU's next 3 games are Wisconsin, Quinnipiac and BU. They have a chance to make some headway in the Pairwise if they win some of those games.
