After a preseason of thirteen games...... where we had only three games.... it will be nice to be back home. If CBSS is not on your cable plan (it's not on mine) just do a one week free trial on FUBOTV and cancel after Monday's game.

RE: Stony Brook
It would be nice to get off to a good start in conference with a home win.

I feel like NU should win this game, but I’m not sure.

Dreadful game. Both teams stink. They were just tougher and played harder. Discouraging we are going to be bottom half of the league again even with some dreadful additions. It's way past time to move on.

Very little to be positive about in this game. We need more than two guys having a good game.

Winnable game if we can hit a few shots, why aren't we pushing tempo all game long. Bill needs to let them play at a faster less structured pace. Easy buckets will come.

I would love them to play a more uptempo game but right now we're rally not deep enough. Maybe when Luca comes back and if the Kermouny experiment pays off.

We lost this game because we could only score fifty-three points. Doherty, Troutman and Woods shot well.......over fifty percent. Everyone else were no shows. One hundred and twelve minutes contributed five for thirty-one shooting for the rset of the players........33.3 over all for the team..

Last year we averaged sixty five ppg and shot .41.8 from the field. This preseason we averaged .seventy -three ppg and .47.3 from the field. I-m hoping last night was a one off.

Thats because Bill's style is to limit possesions. Its maddening. Its not working. Push tempo, its too early in the season to worry about a 19 year olds tired legs.

I strongly disagree.

It's because of Coen's insistence in pounding the ball to Doherty every possession. We have enough players to play up tempo. Hell, Nwagha is better suited for this style of play. But NU is relying on the super-duper senior and a banged up Harvard guard, asked to play the point, to carry this team. Instead of letting the sophs get the keys to the car and let Doherty and Sakota compliment them.

Either way this team isn't winning squat, so why hold back the sophs?

Ridiculous...

Oh and Sakota is going to be out for a while. So might as well start now.

The remaining corpse of NU Basketball lost by 4 tonight at Stony Brook. I feel compelled to post something just to keep the most minimal of pulse.

I’ll say this…
They got off to a terrible start and turned the ball over, but once they got settled they had SB going to zone defensively at one point, because we were killing them in the paint. This team was much quicker and were much better defensively all around with the sophs. The downside was too much McClintock. Again, he can’t play big minutes. I would’ve rather seen Frankel. Koumory gives us nothing as well.

Metcalf needs to play more. The only shot blocker we have. I’ve been saying it for awhile. We need to know what we have in him.

As usual, the sophs played well....still not careful enough with the ball...ten turnovers among them....but they keep getting better.

On McClintock....we know exactly what his ceiling is. He's steady, doesn't turn the ball over but can't shoot. We don't know how good the two freshmen can be but they need minutes just like last years freshmen needed minutes.

Metcalf has been completely invisible until last night. He has five blocks and ten rebounds for the season and three of the blocks and six of the rebounds were against Stony Brook. I think he earned himself a lot more minutes yesterday.

I wouldn't say Metcalf has been completely invisible, but when he's gotten some time (I was at the Seton Hall game when he had some blocks and added some points) he has shown to me he could be a contributor.

The sophs are improving some. Maybe with a point guard and another offseason (provided none hit the portal), they could keep getting better. Didn't you say the PG we have next year is decent?

What was the deal with Chris anyway?

Well, he's a 2.5 star recruit and I've watched a couple of his games online. He's talented offensively but my concern is that in the games I saw he didn't play PG.
