The Indiana Fever ought to draft Caitlin Clark with their 1st pick, and then draft Grace Beyer in the 2nd round! The two of them combined have scored well over 7,500 points in college.

Wow, 24 of 25 from the line. Not sure about records for most made free throws, but I would be surprised if she isn’t close.

And as a team, UHSP had three starters play 40 minutes and another play 39 and some change, and only not 40 because she fouled out. Amazing.

RE: Grace Beyer- 3,800+ career points and counting
Beyer ends her career at the University of Health Science and Pharmacy with 3,961 points. She scored 33 in USHP’s American Midwest Conference semifinal loss to Columbia College, 70-62, on Saturday.

Her stat line for the night was very typical for her, though her 33 points were below her average. She was 14 for 14 from the line, had 12 rebounds, a steal, a block, 5 asaists, no fouls, and played the full 40 minutes.

She had 1051 points this season. She ended the season shooting 93.1% from the line. But in her last 15 games she hit 207 out of 211 from the stripe, for 98.1%,

Grace Beyer, who plays for University of Health Science and Pharmacy in St Louis recently scored 48 in a game against William Woods University. Amazingly, when WWU cranked up the defensive pressure in the 4th quarter, she sunk 17-of-18 free throw attempts.

“Beyer finished the game at 21-of-22 from the line, 12-for-25 from the floor, and 3-for-6 from the arc to add 48 points to her season total, now at 748. With six games left in the regular season, Beyer needs 197 points to break the NAIA record for most career points (3,855) held by Miriam Walker of Claflin University (S.C.) since 1990.

Beyer also led the Eutectics in assists with seven, and brought down six rebounds in tonight’s game.”

UHSP, formerly St Louis College of Pharmacy, is currently 13-9 and plays in the American Midwest Conference in the NAIA.

Beyer currently stands at 3,693 points. Pete Maravich had 3,655. As far as I can tell, the all time leader is 3,855, a woman from Claflin University in South Carolina, set in 1990. I say as far I can tell, because I really don’t have a great source for an all division, all time career leader. So many records only list D1, I haven’t taken the time to find something 100% definite. Perhaps someone has a good source to share? If so, that would be really cool.

NCAA DII all time is Travis Grant, Kentucky State 4045 (apparently also NAIA)

NAIA:

John Pierce, Lipscomb 4230
Phil Hutcheson, Lipscomb 4106

DI:

1. Pete Maravich, 3667
2. Antoine Davis, 3664
3. Kelsey Plum, 3527
4. Kaitlin Clark, 3520+

Why do you list NAIA separately but include Clark in with Division I?
Its some of this pretty stupid women/girl's are equal stuff.
She's the class of Division I women's basketball, but its ridiculous to compare her to Pete as ESPN does. Pete didn't even have a 3 point shot and of course was playing in a completely different setting in the men's game.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NC...ng_leaders
This is a list of Division I scoring leaders and shows how remarkable Pete was, again before the 3 point shot. This lists the top 25. When you sort it by points per game:

1. Pete Maravich 44.6
2. Oscar Robertson 33.8
3. Elvin Hayes 31.0
4. Freeman Williams 30.7
5. Larry Bird 30.3

Freeman was with Portland St. and didn't have a good team around him, but Oscar, Elvin and Larry all made it to the NCAA title game with very good teams. Pete really only had a decent team around him his senior year when they went to the NIT. So everyone was guarding him, but he still scored. Note that all of those 5 leaders in points per game were before the 3 point shot.

It’s also weird comparing women playing with a women’s ball to the women that played before it was introduced. That makes more difference than what division they played in or whether they were under the NCAA or not.

RE: Grace Beyer- 3,961 Career Points- NAIA Women’s Record
So it sounds like Beyer is done with her career and Clark has announced this is her last year.

Right now Clark sits 170 points behind Miriam Walker and 276 points behind Breyer and 376 points behind Pearl Moore.

Clark has a minimum of 2 games left and a max of 9 games possible if Iowa gets to the championship game of both the Big Ten and NCAA tourney, which is what Iowa did last year.

If Clark keeps scoring an average of 32 points a game, she could add anywhere from 64 points to as many as 288 more points, enough to catch Walker and Breyer.
But not enough to catch Pearl Moore. The only way Clark could catch Moore is play in all 9 games possible and average 41 points a game. So I would say Moore is out of reach for Clark.

Is it even likely that Iowa gets to NCAA championship game again? Probably not but with Caitlin Clark involved, you never know.

RE: Grace Beyer- 3,961 Career Points- NAIA Women’s Record
Clark enters today at 3,737 points. 224 behind Beyer and 118 behind Walker. Plays Nebraska today who she went over 30 points both games this year against. You figure she has bare minumum 4 games at least left, if not more. Walker I think is absolute toast. Will be interesting to see if she could pass Beyer.

I think having 10+ days off will definitely help Clark out to recharge her batteries.

Clark keeps breaking records.

On Friday, she broke the D1 record for 3 pointers in a season, men or women. Breaking the old record that was set bt Steph Curry when he played in college.

On Sat she set some other record that I can't remember what. I think it was Big Ten tourney all time points.

Today Clark is playing in her 4th straight Big Ten Tourney championship game and will be trying to win Iowa's 3rd straight Big Ten Tourney championship.

She didn't break the men's record. She plays with a difference size ball and there were different distances.

Of course, for the men, the distances have varied over the years.

She had 34 yesterday so that gives her 3,771.

Call it what you want. Among all men and all women who have played NCAA D1 basketball, Caitlin Clark has the most 3 pointers in a single season. Even more than Steph Curry, who shares the men's record.

Clark enters the Final 4 at 3,900 points. If she makes the final, you figure she has a really good shot to pass Beyer.

I'm hoping she does it and wins the NCAA title. It'd be the perfect end to an illustrious college career.

You got to wonder how many points Clark would have if she would have got to play a full freshman season. Estimates are that Iowa missed playing about 7 regular season games in Clark's 2020-2021 freshman season. Clark averaged about 26 points her freshman season.

7 x 26 points/game = 182 points missing. Clark could be at 4182 points right now if Iowa would have played a full schedule in 2020-2021.

Of course, Clark has also benefited from playing 13 Big Ten tourney games in 4 years, making the Big Ten Tourney championship game all 4 years she has played. Clark has also played in 15 NCAA tourney games so far, with at least 1 more game and at most 2 games left.

That's a good point. That means if she really wanted to, she could use her COVID year and come back. (I know she's dead set on going to the WNBA, but very few people would blame her if she did come back.)

Looking, they played 23 regular season games in 20-21.
21-22 they played 27
22-23 they played 29
23-24 they played 30

So yeah between 4-7 games missed. She'd be getting the magic 4000 point mark for sure.
