The season finally begins tomorrow night in Tucson, Arizona against U of Arizona.
This is the first meeting between the two teams since the 1966 College World Series.

NU lost 2 out of 3 at Arizona to fall out of the Top 25 rankings.
Game 1: NU lost 6-1 in the season opener Friday night. Starter Wyatt Scotti took the loss, only lasting 2 innings (7H, 5 ER). Soph. Will Jones was excellent in relief pitching 5 scoreless innings (2 H, 3 K). The Huskies only had 4 hits in this one.
Game 2: NU overcame a 6-3 deficit to score 2 runs in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to take an 8-7 lead. Arizona tied it in the 8th. But in the 9th, DH Alex Lane broke a 7-7 tie with a solo bomb and Michael Gemma got a 4-6-3 double play with 2 men on for the win. Dennis Colleran made his first start and went 4 innings (6 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) and touched 98 mph multiple times in front of a ton of scouts. Jake Gigliotti pitched 2 scoreless innings in relief.
Luke Beckstein, Tyler McGregor, Alex Lane, Carmelo Musacchia and Jack Doyle had 2 hits a piece. Beckstein, McGregor, Lane and Musacchia also had 2 RBI a piece.
Game 3: NU lost the rubber game of the series 9-3 as Soph. starter Aiven Cabral didn't have it (1.1 IP, 3 H, 5 ER, 4 BB). Arizona was up 9-0 after 5 innings. Luke Beckstein went 3-4.
Mike Sirota went 3-12 and Cam Maldonado didn't get a hit in the series. Luke Beckstein hit .500 (6-12) in the series.
