Exactly. Some degrees matter. Everyone with a degree in Chem, Bio, Medicine, Nursing LOL at this thread.

Let’s be real 90% of degrees don’t matter and it’s just a giant waste of money other than saying woo I got a degree. Some fields are finally relaxing on this and actually caring about what matters. Can the person do the job or be trained to. The ones you listed do matter of course.

The big problem with degrees are the gen ed requirements... Multiple humanity courses, geography, etc. required for my accounting degree, literally just a waste of two years and a bunch of money. Students would be far better off not having to take and pay for those courses, finishing in 2ish years and then going out into the workforce and learning on the job.

I agree 100%. My senior year at CBHS, I dropped out of high school in October the day I turned 18. I had decent grades but felt it was a waste of time. I enrolled at U of Memphis that January with the thought of taking business courses that would help me in running my own business. Got my first dose of reality as to what a s&^t show it was when I found the perfect courses and was told I had to fulfill 4 to 5 levels of requirements before being able to take them. I just couldnt stand to take anymore gen ed classes that were more useless than my high school courses. I was done with college after 3 semesters. Waste of f'ing time for me at least

Not quite my experience at all. I wanted to get into advertising so majored in marketing/advertising and minored in journalism/advertising I was Sports Editor of THE TIGER RAG and my senior year was BUSINESS MANAGER and set all kinds of ad sales records and quadrupled the ad sales for the paper. That year, the MSU business school was ranked in the Top 5 by SMSE, the Society of Marketing and Sales Executives. My Business Law Instructor was as practicing attorney in Memphis and my Ad Principles instructor owned a big ad agency in Memphis. I had a 3.5 GPA in my ad classes. When I went to Los Angeles to interview with ad agencies after graduation, Foote, Cone and Belding (the world's second largest ad agency) looked at my resume and I was the only college grad they added for their Management Training Program that year. I was up against lots of USC, CAL and UCLA grads. College is what you make of it. You can participate or you can tread water and get by. It is your choice.

Could be, pick 5:
Jayden
JQ
Walton
Tomlin
Malco
Brown
Mills

Tomlin still has another year, I believe.

I don't think so.
He played 3 years of juco ball - burnt his COVID year there.
Then last year at K-State and this year.
5 years.
But these days, who really knows.
