Good game all around. Tynes got significant minutes, but also fouled out. She needs to learn not to do that if she wants to play more. Goodman playing more minutes has increased her capacity to play well. I'm impressed, and the announcers, one of which is an ex-ODU player and a sometime youth coach, definitely were too. (The one that was a sometime youth coach mentioned that her team had played against a team Tynes was on when Tynes was in 8th grade "and she was 6'2 then too!")

She got significant minutes, that's the important thing. Got herself a couple of baskets and a free throw! If she can come in the game and just be ok, that's great. Kozlova's injury could drag on or Goodman could twist an ankle. You never know. I really wish Tynes would develop some perimeter skills in the off-season. She looks athletic enough to play the 4 spot. With those skills she could possibly be another Barnes. Reading that she was 6'2"ish in 8th grade I understand why she doesn't have those skills. If you're tall all your life you get stuck playing under the basket. That's a shame.

I was a little down on Goodman early in the season. It appeared she wasn't progressing and didn't have the confidence I look for. Glad to eat my words. She has much softer hands than I noticed. Her teammates were passing in some tough ones to hang on to, yet they stuck perfectly. I now believe we'd be better with Kozlova coming in off the bench and Goodman starting. Kozlova is tough as nails, I simply believe her game would serve us better coming not as the starter. Goodman looks to pass more and it drives defenses crazy to have the big dishing off. I believe we could beat any SB team playing like last night.

I felt pretty much the same as you about Goodman, BP, but she's really stepped up these last few games. I guess all it took to build up her confidence was to have to play a lot! There was a point in last night's game where both she and Tynes were in and it drove ODU absolutely crazy! Maybe if we play a team with mostly shorter players Coach should put the two of them plus Barnes and McDaniel in...impenetrable barrier! I was quite pleased with Sterling last night too. She had a very solid game and is shooting well.

Chloe has really improved as the season has gone on.

Annalicia has also improved the last 4 to 5 games also. She seems to have gotten over her stiff hand issue and now seems to be much more fluid in the paint than she was earlier in the season. She is probably still going to get pushed around by the larger more muscular post players in the conference but she has definitely opened eyes as of late.
