Boycott Big/SEC
It is time for me.

I totally lost interest in the NBA long ago, just follow the NFL lightly starting in January, and now the greed of these two conferences in particular - is over the top.

I simply am going to avoid watching anything involving these two conferences as much as I care to. There are plenty of other options and unless I have a rooting interest, I will tune elsewhere.

Revenue $s - is the only thing these two conferences care about - the more they chase it the more schools, fanbases, and viewers they alienate.

I quit watching the majority of the ncaa tournament years ago. I'll usually watch the final, and then any games that involve mid majors making a run, but it would have to be a special case for me to watch other games involving only p6 programs. For example, I really liked watching Davion Mitchell and the way his baylor team played, but that might be the only time in the last 7 or 8 years I tuned in to watch anybody from a major conference outside of the finals.

As much as I want to boycott, and I certainly do not watch their product, it would take a lot of purest who value college athletics to make that boycott actually work.

JMU Rocks I totally get it And I am totally with you. I really hate what college athletics has become at the top and you wonder how long can the new way actually can sustain itself. Hopefully, a balance will be found.

0-3 on sentences, hburg.

You were looking for the word "purists" here.

This would have been fine if not for the missing comma and unnecessarily capitalized "and."

You could add a boatload of punctuation and remove the second "can." Alternatively, this sentence is more easily addressed by simply removing the first "can."

Please revise and resubmit.

In my defense Grammar Police :), this is what sometimes happens with voice dictation/auto correct and you forget to review before submitting. At the same time... it's a message board. Yes, I do realize grammar doesn't go out the window on a message board 03-wink.

Anyway, appreciate the grammar correction. I will do my best to make it better next time for your sake, so it doesn't cause you headaches and stress.

Though I am sure the above will cause an aneurysm...lol.

The arrogance of those conferences defies belief. Playoffs by their nature are merit based. The whole idea that they should receive guaranteed spots and guaranteed byes flies in the face of the nature of competition. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. The P5s have pretty much circled the wagons as far as playing road games outside of conference anyway, so fairness and true competition is not something they are interested in. They are ruining college sports.

They are the ones that chose to get too big. Too bad for them that they feel that they don't have enough spots. They did this to themselves for the sake of money.
Maybe the schools that are upset should have thought about that when they joined a conference with 1,000 other schools.
