Oops, didn't realize there was a thread already for the final week of the regular season and they start of conference tournaments in a number of leagues.

Queens beat Florida Gulf Coast for the 2nd straight year on a neutral floor in the first round of the A-Sun tournament. Their reward is a game on the same floor against 2nd seeded Stetson tomorrow night.

A decade after the Sweet 16, Florida Gulf Coast is losing to Queens in an ASUN play-in round.

RE: College Basketball General Thread Week 18
Huge upset in the Atlantic Sun quarterfinals tonight as #10 seeded Jacksonville knock off top seed Eastern Kentucky 67-65. They now make the trip to DeLand to take on 2nd seeded Stetson on Thursday.

Dolphins did not win a road game in the conference play regular season but they came up with the goods tonight.

UNLV are currently the hottest team in the Mountain West. They've won 10 of their last 11 after defeating #21 San Diego State on senior night. After Nevada's win at Boise tonight the Runnin' Rebels have equaled the number of wins with three other teams at the top of the conference.

Remember the MW Conference tournament is at the Thomas & Mack Center their home arena. Its not beyond the realms of possibility they could win the conference tournament and put the MW in the conversation amazingly for 7 bids.

Congrats to Le Moyne for defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 82-61 in their first ever conference tournament game at the D1 level. By far the most convincing winner on the night. They travel to Amherst now to face the #2 seed Merrimack in the NEC semifinals on Saturday.

UMass holds on to beat Fordham in our last game of the regular season...to get us to the 20 win mark for the first time in a decade (and the first time since our last NCAA squad). We need to keep this rolling and not lose momentum when we move to the MAC.

Since I will inevitably change my signature at some point, here is my sig (again) so the board/thread has record of it:

Sadly this year's Fairleigh Dickinson will not be Fairleigh Dickinson...

C'est la vie for the low-major (or as I've recently begun to call the very lowest, non-major) that can't keep their coaches, attract players with even mediocre facilities among other things (including NIL) and now lose their best players in the transfer portal.

Can't say it wasn't expected though, neither St. Peter's nor UMBC (among many, many others) really built upon their one shining moment and FDU likely won't either.

Turned on Arizona vs UCLA, and Arizona is winning in a rout. But I wanted to hear Bill Walton and his stream of consciousness in the last days of the Conference of Champions. Dave Pasch is there, but Richard Jefferson is doing color. Where's Bill?

Most satisfying win I may have ever experienced as a UH fan, aside from the 2010 C-USA Tournament championship game. Big 12, we have arrived.

First year review from the Big 12: the gap between P5/G5 football is as big as advertised (maybe bigger), the gap between Major/Mid-Major basketball is not.

Cincinnati and UCF may not agree with you. Houston is just an exceptional team.

On the other hand, BYU did very well in its first season of men's basketball too. In the WCC, BYU made the NCAA 4 times in 11 tries. They went from 7-9 in the WCC to 9-8 in the Big 12 with a home game vs 4-13 Oklahoma State left.

UCF went 8-10 last year in the American and was picked dead last in the Big 12 this year. They went a respectable 7-11 this year with wins over KU, UT, OU, TTU, and TCU (all of whom are projected to make the tourney). That’s way better than most people expected. BYU was picked to finish 2nd to last and will finish 5th with a win over Oklahoma St. tonight. Even Cincy was very competitive in Big 12 play. They just weren’t very good at defending their home court this year or they’d have made the tourney in year 1.
