RE: Temple/UAB
It would actually be a rational explanation for how Temple has performed this season. No way that should be a 220 NET team.

RE: Temple/UAB
Why do I think this is someone in Vegas being really bad at their job, or bad AI, for putting that line so low to begin with? I mean, for 2.5/3 points for THIS Temple team against a decent UAB team? Easy pick. I suspect that if you moved that line from 2/2.5 up to even ten early enough yesterday on one of those apps and took UAB, you probably did quite well if you placed a fiver.
FWIW, while I don't bet now, I found significant success in betting spreads and totals for college basketball games BECAUSE the lines seemed so sloppy or lazy in places. With so much trackable action, I'm not surprised when there are some "goofs" that probably should have not been out there with respect to spreads. Especially in the smaller, non-major conferences, but sometimes in the more recognizable ones, too.
One to have watched this season was Pacific. I think they went 6-24 against the spread. And when they beat the spread, four of those times were the games with San Francisco and Gonzaga where the lines were as low as +19 against USF one game, then +31 for that game a few weeks ago against Gonzaga.
