31-3 is indeed absurd. I've never even heard of such a thing from a non-1-seed. I would be very scared if I was a 5 or 6 seed matched up with this team.

In the first round I would be very scared against anyone if I was not a #1 or #2 seed.

I’m still processing last night’s dominant win. Ark State did have a weakness on defense all year, but I never expected a blowout when every player is giving all they have to avoid seeing an end to their season.
X took some bad shots that he actually made, but that was just the icing. The rest of the team carved up Ark State at will with good passing and good shot selection.

The boatload of offensive rebounds for Ark State was concerning at halftime, but JMU only gave up 3 of them in the second half and the lead went from 10 to 20 pretty quick at the start of the half.

It’s pretty rare to see a conference championship game be decided that early with no runs to even make it interesting.
It was complete and utter dominance.
Not just complete dominance,
Not just utter dominance,
But complete AND utter dominance.

The only thing that would be better than last night would be JMU playing like that in the NCAA tournament. It truly was an “A” game on offense and defense.

Ever since Matt Doherty took one look at the Convo during his interview and said “this place is a dump “, as much as I loved the place during my time there, the Convo was holding back this programs potential.

With the AUBC and current Q rating of JMU athletics, should Coach By leave, this will be an extremely attractive job opening.

I think the days of us being dregs in mens hoops are over.

Hey DD -

Are you still a critic of the style of Mark's 31-3 NCAA bound Dukes? Plenty of ways to win hoops games. Give me this style over T Bennett's labored exercise.

I love the way Mark supports these guys and gives them the freedom to take open shots. Shooting is about confidence, and when the coach has your back, you are going to hit more shots. that approach leads to the game we got from Xavier.
