We could sure use him -- Brown just has not stepped up yet, but there is slight hope.

Does it really surprise anyone that Brown hasn't stepped up? I posted when there was talk of him possibly coming back and stated that the chances of him being in D-1 shape upon his return was slim to none or he wouldn't have left in the first place. I was flabbergasted when he got the ball down low in the last game he played when he just flipped the ball over his head in the direction of the goal when he could have dunked the ball. To me it seems to prove he has no legs under him.

Damn, its depressing to watch that. That player alongside Tomlin, with Malcolm never having come back, would make this team a true darkhorse for a deep run

He looks so much better it makes you wonder if he just sat around & ate too much Boudin in the off season. It's been an incredible drop off since he's played that well.

And why keep this over Penny, the basketball program, and the fans heads now? The season is over, and not one comment from them. They need to come on out with it. They are probably already done, and is just holding it. They need to get this finished to let recruits, transfer portal guys know where it stands.

He is easily 20 pounds lighter in that video. If not more.

Unless it becomes an ncaa investigation I don’t see why anyone cares at this point. Malcolm is done so there is no issue with him coming back or not. If he was going to announce something about it he should do it while the tourney is going on when it’s not a slow news cycle though. So it mostly stays buried from headlines.

Yep, if there's anything salient to release to the media/public, you do so about an hour before the National Championship Game on April 8.

Would be surprising to have held MD out of games & there not be at least self-reported violations that will open an NCAA investigation. Unfortunately....

Right now the NCAA hasn't gotten involved at all.

You would think the U of M would want to get its internal investigation done as quickly as possible and provide the NCAA with all the information as quickly as possible.

A possible hold up is that it is no longer a purely internal investigation and a state agency has gotten involved.

Who cares his career is over and apparently nobody else is involved. It’s a school matter not the ncaa. And since we didn’t win anything there’s nothing to vacate

NCAA 3,165 employees
39% women
61% men.
Caucasian 66%
Hispanic 12%
other 24 %

https://en.as.com/ncaa/how-much-does-the...20revenue.

The NCAA governing body generates and keeps almost all of its revenue from the annual Division I Men's Basketball Tournament. The NCAA March Madness basketball tournament is responsible for most of the organization's revenue.

The governing body of college sports in the US pockets just under ten figures each year from the competition. Because the NCAA doesn’t control the College Football Playoff and the FBS bowls, they must rely strongly on what the D1 tournament can bring.

Most of the NCAA’s revenue comes from selling its TV rights and ticket sales. Unfortunately, when the COVID pandemic hit, they had to cancel the tournament, resulting in a revenue loss of around $800 million that year.

How much revenue does March Madness make for the NCAA?
In 2010, the NCAA signed a 14-year, $10.8bn TV rights deal with CBS Sports and Turner Broadcasting System. In 2016, that agreement was extended to 2032, with the networks committing to paying a further $8.8bn for the eight years added to the contract.

In 2021, the association made $1.16 billion, setting a record earning year; 85% of that came from March Madness.

And they are a non-profit organization..no fed taxes
I didn't do any more research to find out what they pay their upper crust. But you know they wanna live. I hope they die the death of a thousand cuts.

I have never seen an ethnic breakout that uses the term OTHER and not the term AFRICAN AMERICAN or BLACK. That is a really odd breakout.

More or less true but when MEMPHIS does an internal investigation that suspends a player, the NCAA immediately goes into get Memphis mode. I fully expect the university to have self-reported & are waiting on the NCAA to reply/investigate/pronounce judgement & penalties.
