I think for this team, not playing in the NIT was the correct thing to do.

I will say though, looking at the NIT bracket it looks like a pretty good tournament. It has some good games and could be sort of fun even though it is meaningless. The fact that UCF and Butler are in is dumb. Also, I see that San Francisco is also in. They will be an early season opponent for the Tigers in November.

Not at the time I made that post. I don't think Penny had officially declined or if he had already said it I didn't know it.

Not that anyone would have actually been excited about the NIT - which I did know.
