Also one tourney win in 6 years ain’t good either.
5 post-seasons. And it's still not good. But it's better than the 5 years prior. And NCAA tourney invites (2) > greater than bowls other than the NY6 (5).
lol
2…let’s say it again…2 NCAA appearances. ONE win…just ONE.
And a horrible 2023-2024. No good HS prospects in sight to even build a program. The program is on the downturn and Penny hasn’t improved as a coach. This is how Paz was trending towards the end. Tiger basketball is on its last wheel under Penny. Unfortunately we’ll have to tolerate one more year before the plug is pulled.
Liberty bowl win against Iowa State is better than the one NCAA win Tigers have had under Penny. The opportunities in football even with an underwhelming Silverfield is better than the misery we are about to experience next year and perhaps more.
Whenever you say a Liberty Bowl win against a Iowa State team (which had 7-8 starters sitting out BTW), is better than any NCAA tourney win, you lose a lot of credibility.
LOL
A poster who doesn’t do any research and makes outlandish claims has no business calling anyone else out for a lack of credibility.
The one NCAA win was against the “mighty” Boise State where the Tigers were favored by 3 points. Favored by 3 points…not an underdog.
In the Liberty Bowl, the Tigers were a 10.5 point underdog. A sizable underdog according to most analysts and betters.
Memphis had 5 players out due to entering the transfer portal.
Iowa State had 8 players out due to entering the transfer portal.
1 never played in 2023 as he was redshirted.
1 was a below average RB that ran for 343 yards and decided to transfer.
1 played 4 games in 2023 and transferred at end of season.
1 played 3 games on special teams and maintained his redshirt.
1 played 4 games in 2023
1 played 6 games primarily on special teams
1 played 5 games again primarily on special teams
1 was a TE that didn’t play a game in 2023
Sanders was the primarily player that opted out. He and the other RB didn’t play the final game of the regular season either. Iowa State beat #18 Kansas State on the ROAD without those 2 RBs.
Memphis beats a low major team in Boise State where the Tigers were favored by 3 points.
Memphis beats a power 5 team in Iowa State (btw 7-8 starters didn’t sit out) where the Tigers were 10.5 point underdogs.
It’s elementary
