Penny really did say "no NIT". Is that true? We officially have stated that we will not receive a bid from NIT?

His players quit on him when they had everything to play for… imagine what they’d do if they had nothing. It was the right call.

There is no development going on at this point. These players are who they are at this stage of their career. If we were a young team, sure NIT is good experience.

I wish Penny would not have even made a comment on the NIT. They could have quietly refused any invite to the NIT through other channels. But not going to the NIT is the correct thing. Just move on to next season.

Yeah, it’s not like they have classes to go to or tests to take or anything. Evidence Malco’s grammar and such in his latest “statement.” Makes one proud to know he got a degree from Memphis, same as me….

He isn't interested in ever playing in any NIT's again.

So now we're too good to settle for NIT's.

Or is it that he thinks HE's to good to settle for NIT.

To accept an NIT invitation should be the players call.

Not this year. There is zero benefit to the program to play the NIT this year. If you have a young team with a returning core - sure - go play and get the extra practice and tournament experience.

This team? Nah. There is literally no point in this group playing any more college basketball.

Totally agree. I used to see value in playing the NIT, but not this year. It would be just another gut punch with nothing to gain.
