Temple

A top 1/3 conference has never had a 16-seed in the NCAA Tournament (and probably never will again), so this could be historic if Temple wins tomorrow.

didn't Missouri one year do it? With a losing record.

I don’t see anything lower than a 12.

I do remember Georgia as a 14 playing Xavier in the tornado year. I have no recollection or knowledge of a top 1/3 conference as a 16-seed.

ok looks like maybe the answer is Georgia in 2008- but they were only a 14 seed.

Think Temple would be a 15 seed when compared to the current bunch of projected 16 seed teams.

The Temple win over FAU and the UAB victory vs. USF highlighted the fact that the AAC had LOTS of good, solid teams this year — but no legit top 25 club and no chance for an at-large bid. The balance and depth were respectable.

The AAC front office members would never publicly say it, but they are praying for a Birmingham Blazers victory tomorrow.

Granted, NET is not the be-all end-all, but it usually is pretty reliable in predicting where the low seeds wind up. Based on NET, projected 16 seeds would be:

St. Peter's (bye)
Montana State (bye)
Grambling (First Four)
Howard (First Four)
Stetson (First Four)
Wagner (First Four)

Despite a sub-.500 record, Temple should wind up on the 15 line. UAB, should they win, projects as a 13 seed, so pretty safely off the 16 line.

Hope the FAU regular season win over A&M gets the Owls the at large.

And if UAB wins today, the two AAC NCAA teams will be from the CUSA6.

I wouldn't want to see Temple as a 2 seed. I imagine they win and they end up as a 14. Oof, even that would be tough for a 3. Teams do get better towards the end of the season, while other regress. The committee doesn't care about this anymore though. Like who wants to play NC State right now?
