I think these third tier tournaments might get more interest by adopting the 8 team format the old NWIT used.

Everyone played three games. Winners played winners and losers played losers. Coaches knew they were getting three games for their trouble. Yeah it meant someone would finish with three straight loses but you got some quality work in.

App's game at Wake is Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN+.

There's going to be a lot of App fans there. Athletics bought 500 tickets for students. The pep band is even going. Wake had to open up the upper deck since they sold out the lower bowl.

Astate (19-16) will play Montana (24-11) at 1pm Monday. Montana's win total is deceptive...couple of NAIA schools, an Indian College and only 5 wins vs. DI teams with a winning record.
