Exclamation Top ten offence for football. Tigers number 6
Son just informed me that 2024 football tigers are #6 in top ten offences prediction for season according to 247 sports. They are ahead of Tennessee.

Man I feel really good about the offense. I guess that is fairly obvious thing to say though. It is strong. The defense has to be better. Thy have to be able to make some stops. The offense can win games if the defense was just decent.

Roc Taylor needs to make a jump this year. Had too many easy drops. Blankumsee was solid but got dinged up. Drake always seems to be open but not explosive. Still a very solid WR core. Shorter & Bussey are in the 2-deep. I just think we need a SOLID 6 WRs and could use a big play transfer at this position to solidify us.

As a fan i consider myself lucky.

Both my college (Tigers) and pro (Packers) teams are on hot streaks when it comes to QBs.

Hope the next in line is either on campus or soon will be.

They hired a former Tiger to be defensive co-coordinator, who has a good background in the 3-3-5.
Memphis has had its best ever defenses in that formation.

I thought a few years ago that “we” didn’t like the 3-3-5 defense but now we want it back

Passing game talent is there but we need another Blake Watson type RB capable of 100yd+ games. Hope this SC transfer is as good as advertised.

during the latter years of the Tommy West regime...Joe Lee's units weren't doing as well. Recruiting had nose-dived.
You do need SOME talent to run that defense.
We've been able to consistently get at least 3* talent in here...some of those kids are criminally underrated.

I want to see us really utilize the Tight End position in the passing game. But yeah, as a fan of big plays, I'm loving Tiger football!

Roc improved drastically this year over the previous year and became a big play guy. I would like to see him take the next step, he has the size and speed.

This and if these new RBs can't run in zone we'll be in trouble, but if they can we should do great. Even with Watson we underperformed in the running game. In a better system Watson likely ends up with 1300-1500 yards last season. Boise State's RB Jeanty (sophomore) played one less game than Watson and had 195 more yards on the season. And the MWC definitely isn't worse than the AAC. In fact three of our conference games were against teams that finished in the bottom 10 of the FBS in rushing yards allowed per game.

I had this saved up just in case, lol. Here is our performance vs other FBS teams. It lists Watson's and the team rushing numbers, the rushing yards allowed per game for the season by the other team, and their rank.

I personally don't like a 3-3-5 as a base .... too make it work imo, you have to blitz, and blitz, and blitz .... weak against a strong run team with a dominant offensive line

Ike believes in the BLITZ and the DEEP BALL

Ike’s sources say we’ll be adding another receiver with speed and separation

Yeah. If we didn't have him and everything else was the same we probably would have been a 7-win team last season.

Looking at highlights of Mario Anderson, the SC transfer, he looks like a good fit for a zone run team like ours. He seems to do well finding the hole that appears instead of just running in the called direction and hoping for the best. Like in this play it's a zone run left, but he sees the hole open on the backside.

02-13-banana Hey man, just to let you know either way is correct. Offense is the American English way to spell it so yes I had a typo. Offence is the British English way to spell it and you don't know if I am British or not.
